After 2 hours of DVD torture, I can finally... start downloading 5GB patch at 70kb/s!

Seriously, Rockstar, die already.

GTA IV was shit that barely worked on launch. LA Noire refused to install due to super crappy installer. Now this Smile

Just give up with your ghey social club, Steam is painless and more importantly, works.

Why didn't you download everything through a torrent? Lot more stable and faster than most services can provide.

Ofcourse all that gets tossed overboard when you have unreliable internets. Smile

@Badrien
Aye I couldn't believe it when I first booted it up... I'm still waiting for some horribly done zone. But so far I explored a whole lot and can't find bad zones.
I expected something decent, but I got more. Which is a pleasant surprise compared to most of the newer releases. (Rockstar are still cunts tho! )

I dabbled in it yesterday and earlier today. But, a lot of times it disconnects and I just don't have the stomach for it. Got to say, they really made that online part cumbersome and rather bloaty. Even MMO's load faster

I've downloaded the 5gb on 2 different computers, one yesterday and one today. Both got between 5-9mb/sec. If you're getting 70kb/s then your connection is shit and steam wouldn't be able to help you there.

I was actually pretty impressed with the holder. The top disc can't be pulled out unless you are pulling from the top while holding the center, and the bottom disc slip underneath the center notch of the top disc so it is popped up from the bottom and then slid out. I did 2 installations and never had a disc fall out of its placement. I won't say some cases didn't have disc popped in, but the same can be said with every single music, dvd, blueray, and disc based media sold out there. It is an automated process.. sometimes those disc don't make it in on the first try.

My internet is quite fine, 40Mbit VDSL line, but Rockstar evidently has some "Murricah first!" QoS policy, so we here in Europe are fucking...

... and DONE!

Only 4 hours of installation, thank you Rockstar for this wonderful evening, it's 2 AM now...

wait...

Verifying data...

... and another 364MB download...

... at 32kb/s

That sounds pretty nasty. Sad I usually get disconnections even when everything's fine, let alone on badly programmed architectures. Haven't found the time (and the courage) to try it yet, so far it's beloved offline/story party (which I'm really loving).

The online wild humping has been postponed to the week-end when my patience threshold will be higher Razz

With Windows 8 being much more secure, further steps are required.

I love online. Look up an annoying KoS guy on my TV, call Merryweather, call mercenaries on him and watch him try to fight all of them off. Laughing

Also, first trainer got released to the game (godmode, speedhack, etc) and it works online. Rolling Eyes
