1.I only like the first matrix. Not exactly a fan.
2.You're incapable of annoying me with your infantile wit.
3.I said to 'download and test it', moron. That takes at least an hour or two, depending on how much of a game you play before forming an opinion.

I also guess basic maths is beyond you, if you think it takes an hour to download a 4GB game on ADSL/Cable. Is your father your brother by any chance? Laughing

lol. I say one thing and and he writes a big thing about it. All I said was that there's one other matrix game (forgot about Matrix online though but I don't really count it cause it's an MMO). I didn't even say anything like it's a great game or even defend it. And god forbid that *shock* you downloaded the game before you read a review! Imagine if you bought the god damn game. Plus even if you read a review you'd probably still download it cause at gamerankings it's at 74% which is decent IMO. So oh wow as a Matrix fan I'm so terribly hurt by your comments Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes

Anyway my Gamefly copy of the game for PS2 finally came today (takes forever cause it comes from CA and live on the east coast). Gonna play it on that for now on so I don't have to deal with all the PC issues (and save like 5 GB). After playing it sometime it's a decent game but nothing really special and I'm kinda disappointed being a Matrix fan and all. Then again I'm not too far into it so it might pick up the pace.

P.S. Is it just me or that 9 out of 10 people that say the game sucks only complain about the graphics or the bugs? No one mentions the gameplay.

Well, don't forget that when ppl mention gfx it's not only because they're quite ugly but because some of them have very poor performance and that leaves a game unplayable.
BTW the game doesn't work on my card, finally confirmed it, my card has 1.3 pixel shaders and the game needs at least 1.4 Laughing anyways I'm not buying a new card to play a crappy port like this.. I wish shiny had the ability to make good ports like the dvs behind NFSMW, that one runs at mid/high without much problems at all Very Happy

No, if I run SR7.stop and hide the drives.

1.Mount the image in A120%
2.Hide drives with SR7.Stop
3.Play the game

I use The.Matrix.Path.Of.Neo.CloneDVD-MiRROR and this patch.

using the bin from 1.0 is pointless since it contains most of the information thats been patched to 1.1 ie the game not saving configs when u exiit. so u may a well not even patch it if u wanna play it.

ok i ended up reinstalling it, saved the Matrix3W32S.bin file, aplyed the patch, replaced Matrix3W32S.bin and its working fine

i have image mounted on latest alcohol + SR7.Stop_1.0.exe

if you have any graphical problems lower the detail settings i have a radion x800 and detail set to 8 all looks fine but if i set it to 10 half the graphix disapear.

you dont have all the changes but you do have a LOT of graphical fixes. A LOT. And this is better than running it at 1.0. Just save the new bin file and if there ever is a working method you can just replace the 1.0 bin with the 1.1 bin you saved.

BTW this is by far the best Matrix game made.

I finally got it playing and what a pile of crap, i agree with every negative comment on here. First the graphics are abysmal, the reflection effects on the floor looks nice but the people are like blocks. It doesnt remember custom controls and i cant play with WADS so i have to assign arrow keys each time. Shooting is harder than hand to hand combat (wtf) as the screen jerks all over the place when you try and aim the gun. At the start when you have to sneak the camera is so useless you cant tell whats happening, the audio ranges from too quiet to hear voices into so loud that you rip out your earphones, and the biggest joke is that it wont even let me quit the game! I try and quit, it says are you sure, Yes or No and no matter what I select NOTHING happens so I have to manually stop the process. Pathetic release.

To get this to work with the patch using only the game mounted in Daemon Tools and some registry modifications:

1. Find the 'Scsi Port #' key under HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SCSI\ that corresponds with Daemon Tools (look at the Driver key for the Daemon tools driver name.) Either change the permissions to Deny everything for your user or group, or change the Driver value here to anything else. (Securom will look up the driver in another part of the registry so it doesn't fool it if you're not using the default Daemon Tools driver name.)

2. Find HKLM\System\MountedDevices and locate the registry key that corresponds with your virtual drive. For example: \DosDevices\G: is mine. Rename this key to anything else such as \DosDevices\G:.backup. Make sure that you do not deny any permissions to MountedDevices, otherwise Securom will indicate that a security module couldn't be activated.

3. Find HKLM\SOFTWARE\D-Tools and change the permissions to Deny everything.

If you still get the message about a security module that couldn't be activated, either you are denying permissions to something in the registry that you shouldn't be, you have another virtual drive program that it is detected whose presence you'll need to hide, or it's complaining about some other active program. For instance, if I have Regmon or NewsLeecher open, Securom complains. Why Securom would blacklist a Newsreader I don't know.

By the way, this worked for the latest FEAR patch as well. Some of these registry changes are reverted when you reboot and need to be reapplied. The change that hides D-Tools will prevent Daemon Tools from loading so make sure it's already running and change it back as necessary.

UPDATE: If, when you installed Alcohol or Daemon Tools, you kept the default names for the drivers, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the software. This time, choose your own names for those drivers, because Securom is hard-coded to look for the default names. I uninstalled Alcohol and reinstalled it in expert mode (minus the StarWind iScsi service), choosing some random names for the drivers. Then I took the same steps I did for Daemon Tools (this time denying permissions on HKLM/Software/Alcohol Soft instead of HKLM/Software/D-Tools) and it worked.

Guys if you've got a console I would recommend you play it on that, it's predominantly a console game anyway, plus the control scheme is geared towards consoles.

It seems almost everyone who plays it on PC is having a bad experience, not least because of performance.

The console version is far from perfect, but it's definitely an enjoyable distraction. At least a 7.5/10.

Daemon Tools has to be running before you take those steps. Those things are supposed to disappear because you're stopping anything from viewing those keys, including both Securom and yourself.

For people getting the 'emulator detected' message... I was able to reproduce the issue on my own box when I used Alcohol 1.9.5 Build 3105 instead of Daemon Tools 3.47. I'm working on this now.
