It's something Everything Went Better Than Expected

Now I just need the new stormtrooper armor sets (there's some cool variants) to be in this new Star Wars game, but I'm afraid they won't be; the same with heroes because of potential spoilers.

However, I can see that they'll introduce Ep7 stuff more to the game as DLC -after- the movie has been out for a while.

That video above looks like a CGI cutscene. I hope the reveal shows real gameplay.

It looks very similar to the "in-game" snippets they had shown before, so I think that it was real gameplay. Well... as real as what you might expect from a trailer.

Yes, that looks very BF4. Smile Both the environment and the textures of the scout makes me think it is ingame. That screencap for sure. Its not good enough to be a bullshot.

That lighting is insane and nowhere to be seen in BF4 though. Let's hope it'll be that way

If anything, the fact that (finally) the PS360 versions have been dropped is already positive. It will mean less constraints, and hopefully something that fully takes advantage of the Frostbite (which hit its unfortunate low with Brownline xD).

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I believe that Dicea will handle this title with more care. They may be reckless but they're not dumb, repeating the same mistakes would not be recommended, despite the Star Wars hypetrain. Very Happy

The game will have problems at launch, that's sure, otherwise it wouldn't be good old DICE. But given all they've learned and accomplished in terms of the engine, netcode, etc. with BF4, I'm positive it will be much more polished Razz

I'm giving them more credit than they deserve, I know! Laughing Obviously I'm not going to do anything until I've tried the beta* for hours and hours, analyzing all the nasty things (unlike BF4 where I ignored the bad signals and still jumped in the crashwagon a few days after the official release like a kamikaze xD)

*a-ka final game under a different name

Yep, that's what I'm hoping/thinking too. After all the months spent fixing all those unfixable problems, and even succeeding (partially), it would be foolish to let everything go to waste again. Or maybe not Laughing

As someone who never played the other Battlefront games, is this a SP game or MP/Co-op game?

Both. Well, to be fair we don't really know about THIS one yet, but both prior Battlefront games had expansive single-player modes, though not "story" campaigns, just single-player.

They were largely just a bunch of missions connected, and with BF2 it had a galaxy conquest mode, a sort of RTS where you could conquer planets and actually jump into the space/ground action yourself. Despite its age, I do recommend picking up Battlefront 2 and giving it a try =)

There's just two things you need to consider

1. This game HAS to come out in November so that everyone still has money before Christmas

2. This game HAS to come out before the movie does, to reap sales beforehand, and to reap sales after it releases with the associated hype it will bring

Whether or not it's ready, or needs another year in development, or whatever - it's coming out on that date.

And with their track record? May the force be with them

So basically, nothing has changed Laughing I don't think they had any freedom regarding the choice of release date for BF4. And that's exactly why we can be sure there's gonna be problems on day 1 for this new title. We just think they won't be nearly as bad and as game breaking as it happened with BF4.
