Last time I played was with vurts phenomenal patch.

Now you want me to play it AGAIN!

I WILL!!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Gothic 2 has always looked really good as far as I'm concerned. This looks really damn good considering the game's age actually! All it really needs now are better models and it'll look like a game released recently!

More screens with L'hiver edition (a mod worthy of trying out in itself )

It's not fair like this...one struggles with clearing the backlog on daily basis, and you keep posting all this awesome stuff. Crying or Very sad Razz The new rendering is a beauty.

Wait for the next build, it should have particle and lightning effects for spells.

Yeah, I'd wait for something like beta or RC before playing. Altho the struggle is real.

It looks and runs really well but it is a bit buggy at the moment. The shadows flicker occasionally and the bars in Xardas's tower disappear at certain angles. At this point I'd say Vanilla+Vurt is the way to go. But it is very promising.

Newest addition (alongside tesselation) are particle effects:

Drooling

And it runs VERY well, better than the original DX7/8 version. HBAO is a bit of a performance killer for me though

Well, the thread is about Gothic 2 gold/NR, so the "original" would be first vanilla release.

That being said, regarding Gothic 1 - I don't recall any renderer-mods for it. There were quite a few GFX mods that improve in-game visuals plus, I think, there was a wrapper-mod that was created to bypass issue with slowdowns on new Nvidia drivers.

That's all i think

All you had to do is read my post above,

Degenerated's DX11 renderer works also for Gothic 1, just needs a different ddraw.dll. Everything is in the links I provided.

All you had to do is actually write or mention Gothic 1 in ANY of your posts on this page:
Are You Serious

Unless you count "go on german section of WoP forums, translate shit through Google, try to make sense of translation and learn the mod supports gothic 1" == mentioned in your post in plain and simple statement.

kek.

That being said, it is nice to know render is backwards compatible.

Finished it. Again./ the renderer and l'hiver really made a difference.

Too bad l'hiver is also a rebalance mod, not only graphic, it makes the game a but too difficult at start and yiu're never as powerful as you were in vanilla, even in endgame.

Achieved another record though, level 57 Smile Killed everything and everyone I could, even companions (ok, them I just knocked out)

I like gothic 1 more. But I rarely love sequels better than originals.
