Tho I've never really finished witcher 2 (but loved 1)
6min in - "Expansion pack is... well expanding on a game... DLC is things like hair style, armour, should be free as our thanks for buying the game"
And he just says that ofc all w3 dlc is FREE. Love that company.

I've finshed first witcher two times. Tried playing witcher 2 several times but it seems too huge and overwhelming for my current lifestyle (nice word for work). But I will manage to play it somehow!
Witcher3 will wait like a decade before pc's powerful enough will come out so I have time

So digital unlocks at 1 am? But Polish collectors editions should be playable at 00:00 polish time! (well probably installation time is 1 hour though )
And once again, I suggest checking out some of the albums of the band - Percival. They are actually two projects - Percival Schuttenbach and Percival. First one is more rock-metal like, second is rather down to the roots, slavic music, especially with their two albums with southern and estern Slavs' music.

Absolutely! Percival are amazing..such a unique sound, you can really feel the folk atmosphere.
Its metal variant though isn't as good in my opinion (personally I prefer bands like Arkona over Schuttenbach when it comes to the same-ish genre, although from different countries/backgrounds )
Reminds me of the intro cutscene in the first Witcher where you see similar changes in Geralt's face for a brief moment as the potion takes effect before he goes out and wrestles that striga.
Did they really transmit c64 games over the radio in Poland? I mean I remember my ZX Spectrum days and games on cassettes but I've never even heard of such broadcasts in Russia.
Yup. They did I remember at least one audition called "Radiokomputer" (which is pretty self-explanatory once you switch "k" for "c"), but I think there were more of them. Piracy was completely rampant here then. When I bought my Amiga a while later (oh, memories ) I remember being handed a case full of floppy disks signed with a ballpen/marker. It was considered normal, most people my age didn't even know there was something called original games I was like "oh, wow!" when I saw my first boxed copy
In many ways, this doesn't feel like a Witcher game, it feels more like a fantasy version of Red Dead Redemption, where you have a vast world and go around to explore
This makes me sad
I know open world games are all the rage these days, but that comparison really lowered my hype. I now have the feeling it'll be yet another unfocused "fuck around" simulator, like RDR or GTA. In other words: tons of stuff to do/see, no narrative motivation to do so. I really hope I'm wrong...
The previewers that played the game at the Moscow event in March said that the main story is very focused, very cinematic and has high production values (presentation/voiceovers/cutscenes). They even complained about the open world being more of a backdrop than an actual living environment.

While it's probably not possible to make an open world that wouldn't detract from the main storyline and its narrative in some way and to some degree, I think it might be possible to make one that won't do it if you don't let it. I'm pretty sure there'll be tons of stuff to do in the world - some of it silly and very sandboxy - but if the gameplay isn't centered around these activities, but instead around a strong storyline and meaty, meaningful quest chains - with the world working as a detailed background... that could work I wish for something like that, more or less, because that would mean both groups kinda get what they want (and I get double that ). Still... wheter it really can be done remains to be seen. Previews are kinda optimistic, exactly because they point in different ways - people seem to get what they want from the game, be it a strong quest structure and storyline, or detailed RDR-like open world.
@The_Leaf "unfocused fuck around simulator" perfect single sentence summary of open world games, this is my one major concern going into this title. I just hope this game doesn't have, collectibles, horse-racing shit, house-building, mining, fedex and other bland as fuck gameplay. I'm really hoping they've turned this open-world idea on its head with this game (Because i think it can be done).
I hope it has the fuck around part, that's the whole idea with a sandbox / open world games.
That part should obviously not be forced upon the player, but it usually isnt. I mean if you play GTA and all you do is try to run over and kill everyone and then complain "well this is really fucking boring, what a crap game" i really don't think its a problem with the game as much as it is with the player, who refuses to follow the story, because he doesnt have to.
I guess if someone isn't used to open world / sandbox games they might have a hard time to not do stupid shit all the time that eventually will ruin the game for them.. Personally i think gameplay excels when it's the players own unique adventures that is the fun part, and not the forced linear story which is the same to everyone anyways (uninteresting, imo).
I still have to beat Pillars in that time, currently I'm preoccupied with GTA V
Thankfully I finished TW2 again last week to prep my save.
Neutral in the first game, gave Alvin to Triss, saved everyone that mattered.
TW2-
Spoiler:
chose Iorveth in Flotsam, didn't kill Henselt, didn't kill Stennis, Pontar Valley is independent under the rule of Saskia (I saved her from Eilhart's spell), spared Sheala de Tancerville, killed Letho.
Can't fucking wait, the CE is supposed to arrive at midnight 18th/19th May.
'The developers clearly stated that both Xbox One and PS4 versions were locked at 30fps. So this 60fps is obviously just on the PC with a XB1 controller.'
