drm free? |
KSP has always been DRM free
Even on Steam, you can copy&paste game folder and just launch the ksp.exe |

So Far I´m not impressed. Seems rushed and unbalanced. The new atmo model is wonderful for flying but the rest is meh. Calling this 1.0 is a joke. The game is out of beta so it shouldn´t lack so many basic features. No matter which part of the game everything is half-baked.
Maybe I expected too much..

Tried this game yesterday and was very disappointed. Gameplay seems to consist mostly of slapping a few blocks together. The actual flying isn't that much fun. Graphics are poor. Interface is confusing.

I played a lot of Minecraft, I enjoyed every bit of it. This game can be fun, probably, but it needs a shitton of polishing first. Everything feels unpolished. There's just some dynamic missing, all that's fun are the 'creatures' (no idea how they are called). The rest is just, meh.

I'll give it another try someday. KSP felt so empty, I don't really know how to describe it.

I played KSP shitton on 2013 Christmas, but after that I somehow have not been able to get into it again :I
Maybe would have to try with some mods. I've always played it without any mods at all.

I think the point of the game is the challenge of building your own aircraft and then setting your own crazy objectives. (or your own program, or your own sustaining offworld base...etc. etc.
It's a pure sandbox with brilliant features and way for you to have fun, but without a clear and simple beginner objective it might be difficult to find the fun factor. (mine craft at least had you try and survive the first night.)
A simple one I can suggest would be to build a craft that can land on the moon and then return home safely and undamaged.
The depth, challenge and feeling of achievement when you do a challange that for the first time is brilliant.
Otherwise watch other people play the game and see how they approach it to have fun. Trust me when I say the space craft building is the least intersting part of this game for me.

I was overwhelmed with emotion the first time I sent a lone Kerbal into orbit and returned him safely back home

It's not that dramatic, they have enough supplies and spare parts to last through a failed resupply.
They might have lost some experiment stuff and personal items allong with supplies, but nothing mission critical.
Haven't read up on the cargo list tho, but Chris Hadfield touched the subject in his book.

Of course they will be fine until the next resupply, but it's still a setback since it limits the amount of crafts being able to go up there for now, which will be limited to SpaceX Dragon and Cygnys.

You know where the fun of this game is? Figuring it out, i mean at first i was fucking stressed at how fucking hard and weird it was to me.
But then i got into space, then orbit, then back, then i took the mun goal.... how the fuck... dude, i spent the whole fucking night building rockets to go out and still have fuel, then landing on mun, then back, that was it for me. The fun of building and figuring this shit out and making the trip and succeed in it.
And then i met the other goals i could think of..... other planets, learning techniques, making ships i could reuse etc. Then missions came in and all was shown to me as a true goal with rewards. Trust me, it takes time but figuring it out and making it happen, is a great feeling in a game as weird as this one.
This game is a LOAD of fun, a huge time killer, ill never stop playing it.

Have you tried rendezvous/docking yet? I had a tall rocket needing rescue after running out of juice while spinning. Interstellar moment...
