Yeah, few people I know had some early retirements of their OCZ SSD's... still 2 years lifetime. So I was a bit wary this time around, but the deal was nice and it would be delivered fast. But boy do I regret it

I really didn't expect this, might be just unlucky... but after a month I'm also thinking that I won't be feeling secure at all with the replacement they will sent.

No sign of Morphineus. Probably something went wrong. Motherboard doesn't want to accept the new SSD?

@Morphy, maybe your maderboard killed that SSD after all cuz she doesn't like OCZ. Try Corsair next time. Wink

And just had mail, Advanced RMA... so my replacement is being send off either today or tomorrow. Had half a page of possible solutions and tests that I performed send of with the ticket so I got a straight RMA

@Matrix
Maybe, but last time she could at least stand it for 5 years... she's really getting too picky Laughing

Your loss. SSD as a system drive is awesome and pretty much standard these days.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I have avoid that brand ever since, but then again, ssd market can be very random

My 3 yo corsair 120gb has 50/50 tb read writes and has retired block count of 3,
while my 1 yo Kingston 120gb has been used 11/11 tb, but retired block count is 17 Laughing

I've got an Agility 3 and Vertex 4, both just about 3 years old (the Agility's a few months older), not a hitch with either. And the V4 is in my MBP as well, I kind of expected it to have died by now from OS X's crappy disk handling.

And OCZ now isn't OCZ a few years ago, it's Toshiba now.

so this drive health thing, and all the smart stuff is just bullshit? I mean, if it died after one month, it surely means with no warning too...

Well I never considered that tool accurate, more an estimate. My previous one wasn't close to dying judging by the tool. Still shouldn't complain how long that one lasted, just annoyed at how sudden it is compared to a mechanical drive.

Used the OCZ one for the newer one and it was suddenly. So I don't really put much faith in those tools.
