Here's hoping there aren't any nasty protections or alarms to defend the garage of Cars, because with the actual situation (saving up for both a new car to replace the glorious yaris, and for the renovation of the house which is falling apart like the Nepalian ones), I'm forced to sail the seas 24/7 with an eyepatch on and a long black beard like the old times xD

ugh, what an awful stream. One guy just asked what ABS is.
"When you're turning, are you supposed to let go of the throttle too?"

@Silent_Lurker its like he doesnt know the basics of how a car behaves, plus turning off all the electronic assists doesnt help either, doing that in a real car would fuck you over too.

So remembering I've not played the game since that leaked alpha way back when, here's my first reaction to it.
My GOD this game looks gorgeous. Even with the default settings, most are already set on high, I was getting something like 80-90fps!! That's insane, and just nice to see a game actually being able to run like it was supposed to.
So far I've driven an Aston Martin and a 125cc kart around Abu Dubai. And I didn't crash.
The game just oozes happy. I mean, I am very hard to please, and yet I'm like, grinning away while in my 125cc kcart, surrounded by 19 AI opponents, all with different livery, and it's just epic fun, like Mario Kart on steroids.
This was after my very first go in the Aston, and again, wow. Sounds are superb, the 'feel' just seem right, I didn't struggle too much, and yes I've taken steering and brake assist off
If you like Corsa, you should love this. Get it, it's superb.

Failing this hard at the good old Nordschleife is quite an accomplishment too.

I couldn't even watch something like that.
Sounds as bad as playing Codies F1 online, you really think some are just brain dead.

Surprisingly, journos have evolved and nowadays are usually smarter than that. (Took them a while, yes.)
There's the trend that everyone's trying to judge the game for its actual merits - i.e., whether it delivers on the promises and if it's in accordance with what was advertised - rather expecting multiplayer co-op brofun out of everything.
2014's clusterfuck for Triple-A gaming (Watch_Dogs, Drive Club, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, etc.) for some reason made them treat their jobs more seriously. ... Weird shit! |
Haha indeed, cases of journaderpism are still present but they're less frequent that before. It's too early to tell, perhaps it's just because the Mountain Dew provisions are running out.
But I believe it could also depend on the fact that reviewers and developers can't share their intimacy anymore after the recent events . (all jokes aside, it's great to see you posting again^^)
