yea, unpluggind optical drives EVERY SINGLE GAME works mounted with daemon tools, including newest starforce versions, WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING ELSE.
the need to unplug drives comes from the blacklist of every scsi drive, virtual or physical it may be.
to avoid unplugging you need the ide virtual drive that comes with dtoolspro anytime soon. with that u can play everything just mounting with your virtual drive. no sdhyde, no securomstop, no starforce bshit...
as for now, dtools4 i a huge improvement to me, the code is here, only the ide drive is missing

from starforce 3.5 on sfnightmare is USELESS. need to physically unplug drives

few and simple words? ok. starforce, safedisc and securom (not just starforce) in their latetes revision blacklisted every scsi drive. this means that if your only drive is scsi the game will run as supposed to do, but if u have ANY non scsi drive, the protection refuses to use the scsi one.
can't care less if u have a real scsi drive or just a virtual drive, u can use the scsi drive only if u haven't any other drive in your system. here's the point. if u disable ide drives via sfnightmare or bios, starforce goes finding them and reenables them.
need to unplug phisically, this way starforce see your scsi drive as the unique drive u have and it's forced to run the game.

with no drive plugged on u can run anything simply mounting. with an ide virtual drive u will mount and play without disabling/unplugginh anything. that's dtoolspro. as for now, unpluggind is the answer

So, you imply that when DT4pro is out we could be able to mount Splinter Cell 3, enter cdkey provided with an .nfo, install it and play without unplugging anything? Am I correct?

You can do that right now, since SCCT uses SF 3.4.77 or smth like this. You don't need to unplug anything, just use SFNightmare and anything U like, SFCure or DT4. Keep in mind this only works with the Snake release, the 4.18GB (which is US version it seems) will never work, it is not a proper image.

so basicly it doesn't help. if it's not the pro version, i've nothing to do with it :\
just to make sure i understand, the dt pro version will be simply mount and play? without any extra tools to use like sfcure/sfn or so on? if yes, is there an estimated release date for it? (i recall the dev saying it will be out @ same day, might be wrong)

Yes, there is a very precise ETA on that, it's "it's done when it's done!", and yes, you'll be able to mount and play every single game, including SF, tages, SecuROM, SafeDisc, anything you you can think of, just as this DT4 version does. The ETA is from official sources, the rest is from my dancing around the crystall ball I use from time to time to check the future and the DT4 development.

you can't just mount and play with this version. maybe sf4 or sr7 protected games but not sf3. i tried couple of games, tm:sunrise and sc:ct and both asked for cd...
did you manage to just mount and play with this version? (sf3 game...) without disconnecting IDE drivers or using external tools?

Not really, I got everything I wanted right now, the only thing missing was the awsome DT4, it came yesterday, along with a headache and some well-spend time.
