I still cant get over the fact, that you, the photoshop guy, is actually even considering sharpening filters as a viable tool for anything. |
Haha, I agree that it's a horrible and rude way to "fix" problems, but sometimes, if you do it without taking it too far like Rgb mentioned, it just works.
I don't know any better way to achieve the same thing without using them, sadly. (because sharpening also affects the UI, and that may be annoying especially in RPGs).
About the shifting from grim style to playful one, that is quite an odd thing to explain really. I have no idea why they did that, perhaps they just wanted to make it look more like DAI.

My all-time favourite sharpening example was ixi's custom SweetFX for "Kingdom of Amalur" .. I *loved* that one. It was perfect, took the blurry foggy "suck!" out of the game and replaced it with glory. Speaking of, I don't suppose you have a ReShade version do you ixi-kun? I'm on Win8.1 now, no SweetFX support, and I'm planning on an Amalur replay soon |
The good old universal vaseline-remover, haha! I don't have any Reshade presets at the moment, but I'll look into it, to see if I can replicate the effect (I have the game installed so it shouldn't take ages).

Well sucks that the quality didn't hold up from Trailers, but its fine from what i've seen there is so much content that after a while you will not even care.
Check out the map on this test video from Gameinformer at around 13:40 to see how big the map is, you think oh its looks alright till she open up the world map and see is one of mulitple areas

the thing is, no one played the PC version of this game ... so wait for it
all i see now is PS4 and Xbone pictures from the Review versions ... both versions had awful pop-in of textures and models
Basically the PS4/Xbone versions look like Witcher 2 on PC ... with High details in 1080p and that is great ... not so great are the 20fps frame drops sections , in spots where nothing happens and in some spots this game just crashes and hangs ...
In other words nothing has changed, in the Internal Development politics of CD-Project ... like with Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 with theirs patches and directors cut and then Enchanted editions this game will be only worth having after the ... Complete version will come ... with all this DLC that was announced BEFORE THE GAME WAS OUT
Its like CD-Project mimics Konami shitty business practices ... tell me how many Versions of MGS2 where there BEFORE THIS GAME WAS fixed , HOW MANY PES or MGS3

Wow, any discussion about graphics or downgrade is being censored at the CDPR forums...

actually people have already posted previews from the pc version online, played with an xbox controller, and the pop-in is very obvious there too, i wouldnt get my hopes up and expect the worst to avoid disappointment.
