tee hee.. theyve been working on it "for 3 years", and they're only NOW fixing 'everything that they swore wasn't downgraded' in a day one patch.
"for realsies.. we swear... just like we swore there was no downgrade, we pinky swears we're adding all the stuff into the pc version we swears we didnt take out. you can trust us... this most definitely isn't a damage control lie to smooth over the release day outrage"
hmmm
no one would be happier than me if the game looked even remotely like what was originally promised, and was significantly better than all the downgrade images we've seen... its just that its kinda hard to have any faith in cdpr right now, given all the deception on their part... they really have burned bridges and shat in the river on all this...
Perhaps that tatoo is/isn't there depending on import choices?
I imagine it's based on save import, but my point was more that it shouldn't be showing up in a flashback scene set during Ciri's training. Geralt (depending on your choices) got that tattoo many years later.
yup... just a lack of attention to detail, most likely

Seems like it's not a flashback per-se, more like a bizarre prophetic nightmare.
everyone gave colonial marines the finger to this kind of stuff, everyone should do the same now, we as a gaming community should not stand for this crap or they will keep doing it, past merit dont matter, it stinks

Man I am fucking ready its almost fucking time. Soon its happening and we start the small 26gb game. Hopefully 26 is enough to pleasure us sufficiently.
I have found a way to avoid downgrade issues with Witcher 4. CDPR should simply release PS4/XB version first, then work on PC version for a year or so.
Manpower issue - gone.
Downgrade complaints - gone.
Parity demands from partners - avoidable.
Amount of QA required for PC - fairly reduced.
Quality - potentially increased due to evolving hardware.
Truly, all this downgrade and 2013/2015 discrepancy could've been avoided - just give up simultaneous release goal. I can already imagine the outrage of grateful fans
So... do you want to release a profitable console version? Good news, you can either commit treason or heresy.
Spoiler:
Seriously, though - I want to believe they were caught unprepared by shitty console specs - it wouldn't be the first time they made bad calls in that department, see: X360 and White Wolf. The rest could be somewhere between PR requirements (+ clauses from partners) and some misguided idea about fixing as much as possible. Pff, I didn't want to buy a new GFX for a single game anyway

It's an idea, seems to be working for R* after all

PCGH claims the patch enables stuff like tessellation on water that now reacts to wind and spells, additional post processing effects, better shadows and details on foliage.*
CDPR delivers.
*at a noticeable, though not quantified, FPS drop, down from 40-50fps on a R290X pre-patch.

All these lucky bastards already playing the game I seriously can't wait, good thing Steam already updated the release date and now it's getting unlocked tomorrow @ 6pm ET
CohnCronage mentioned that review copies have a 3 stage encryption procedure, unique cd-keys and such. Even if someone released it it would be obvious where it came from, and that's kinda suicideal to do. Besides, only one day to release.
