Thank god I purchased gamepad a few days ago. Mouse+KB control scheme is atrocity.
Anyway, do we need to choose 'simulate Witcher 2 choices' before starting the game to have the option to choose our own decision from the W2 or one should select 'no' here?

combat is a huugeee re-learn for me having JUST come from witcher 2... right mouse is now block, tab is now the sign wheel.. and alt for dodge? piffle!
also im having to get used to moving to enemies... i miss being able to click the mouse and having geralt home in on an enemy like a spinning crazy heatseeking missile

wait... you can't remap the controls on the keyboard?

you probably can.. at the moment its not letting me remap some controls.. .maybe because the developer couldnt figure out a way to have the tutorial reference keybinds instead of a preprogrammed key they determined?
either way, its the combat itself thats a bit different that takes the relearning...

Well, it looks like I managed to get almost constant 60 fps in the forest where Geralt and Vezemir fight ghouls
-hair - off
-shadows- low
water, grass , foliage=high
the rest is set to ultra.
However I had to OC my titan a bit more and now I have my fan at 75% speed lol

oh god I need to finish witcher 2 stat!
Had a run around in 3 and it seems optimized well enough. For a release version in this age anyway. Controls were pretty funky though. Feels like the kind of delay you get with vsync but much worse. Same thing with kb+m and a controller.

whats up with K&B strong attack it was rmb on w2 but that is given to powers on the default settings Is it just my rig or did others have no default entry for 'strong attack'

Well hairworks is laughable. Can get 60'ish most of the time, but as soon as hair is involved in the shot it's flipping with 20 to 30 fps. 
Also... it really doesn't look that great especially so in distant shots.
Game itself is for another time.

Check the Nvidia guide to see the difference between SSAO and HBAO+. It is clearly visible there but to be honest, the implementation of SSAO in this game (contrary to many other modern games) looks pretty good, and should be slightly better performing.

Yes, SSAO/HBAO don't seem to work for me either. Or they just don't work on grass etc.
But I saw the screenshots with it working on vegetation...
