Great fucking game. Only level 3 and now in Wyzima. That ghost quest was interesting around the well. Wild fight (didnt use the trap ^^) then swimming searching fucking burning fighting again fucking good quests! I like the game. Its a good fucking game.

And a few pages ago the info revealed itself: no fucking cooking! Eat it raw.

Btw. what about the vipersword? I thought I found a scheme....where is it? Or was it just the quest and I cant make it?

Is gear level based or what?

Did level 20 quest, level 18 monster was guarding the loot. Took 15 minutes to kill. Got level 1 gear. Rolling Eyes

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Haha i guess it's a global bug, happened here too at the first village Very Happy

Time to continue, had a ~10 hour session yesterday (without a single crash! God Bless! Razz )

Compared to W1 (which i didn't like at all) and W2 (which i liked a little more but still) (and both never finished), i'm liking this one far more, though the annoyance of the picking up/interacting with objects and the movement of the horse is starting to piss me off.. So i might ditch this game too due to those 2 big annoyances...

I know i said just after release that the game didnt really grab me somehow but i think that was related to the crashed i had back then. Now today after having played almost 20 hours yesterday i just wanna cancel out on life to just play this game.

Last quest i did yesterday was finding the witch, what an amazing quest that was.

Enough talk now, need to play, bye

Strange thing. I'm running a few settings on high (textures, world detail, terrain detail) and got around 35fps with that. I decided to bring it down a notch to medium, and to my suprise - the framerate went down to 31-32 O_o. Went back to high.

Another thing - the built in AA is complete shit. Instead I just forced SMAA with an injector. Effect - 40+ fps on the same settings. Scratch Head

Blacksmiths make either armor or weapons. So try another blacksmith if you can't craft it.

Ahh so one blacksmith might only craft armor and no weapons? Good to know once again...

And regarding SMAA: you need an injector for that shit? Maaaannn....

You eat the liver raw.

I think you need a "master craftsman" for some of the more advanced schematics, especially the silver swords. Sadly i can't find one, but i did get a quest to find master craft tools or something similar.

Found this...
Quote:
Witcher’s weapons can be upgraded. This is done in a form of special quests. First, you need to find a schematic, which often requires killing a monster guarding it. Then, you have to collect the required ingredients. Finally, it is necessary to find the right craftsman. There are craftsmen on 3 levels of skills available: Journeyman, Master and Archmaster. The better the item, the more skilled craftsman is required. Archmasters first have to be “unlocked” by completing special quests.

You can also get normal meat from wolves and not just livers but yeah I don't think you can cook it.

Also the blacksmiths must be masters of downgrading equipment since they can turn stuff like griffin eggs into normal eggs and a bunch of feathers or turn specific monster ingredients in general to generic ones. Razz

Oh and one of those randomly created peasants got attacked by a group of wolves and when I got near he did that famous movie scream (Wilhem scream I think but there's another one too.) and bolted off at lightning speed, was pretty funny to see.

Surprised that it runs so good on AMD cards without any new drivers. My heavily overclocked 290 runs this 55-60 fps @ 2560x1080 with all ultra expect foliage distance on high and shadows high hairworks also off. Apparently on AMD cards you can also tweak Hairworks to make it look good and to get no performance hit, Tesselation level slider works to it, havent tried it myself yet tho.

Anyway, game looks pretty nice but nowhere near good how it looked back in the times, game feels good tho but very empty somehow ;(. Anyway off to playing some more Smile.

From what I remember of the previous games it's considerably easier than Witcher 1 or 2 so far, higher difficulty levels makes the beginning a bit tougher and special monsters will be able to offer some challenge at least but once you've gotten some equipment to replace or upgrade your starting stuff and start gaining a few levels (Don't forget to assign the skills so that they are actually active.) the game does get rather easy.

Combat itself feels a bit faster paced which might or might not be a improvement depending on personal preferences and you also have a couple of new moves so that's improved at least.

With both consoles having AMD hardware, is that really a surprise? Laughing

I tried, I really did... But it's not my kind of game. :-/
I hate stories, dialogs and I guess I'm more of a loot-whore / hack'n slash RPG player with my hotkeys for magic spells & abilities... Wink

Uninstalled! Very Happy
I hope there will be another diablo-ish game coming out anytime soon...

its obviously not even close to a souls game, but the combat is atleast better than in witcher 2, although way too easy.

i don't expect much but the combat in the witcher games has always felt so passive & weak to me. it doesn't feel right for a game with swords, it's almost like everything is paper and has no weight to it at all.
