This movie fucking blew my mind. One of the best action movies I've ever seen along with Terminator 2, Predator, The Watchmen, Lethal Weapon, Conan, The Matrix ...
I only wished it had more gore. Splatter-type gore when bodies hit the ground or other cars.
Damn guys, you're making it hard to resist. But I promised myself that I would never pay again for dubbed movies , so I'll try to dodge the hype which is kinda rising here.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" did so well at the box office during its opening weekend that director George Miller says there's already a sequel planned and it'll be called "Mad Max: The Wasteland."

Haven't been to the cinema for many years, but went to see this one. Everything is amazing - visuals, effects, camera work, sound Plot is non existent and don't even try to apply any bit of logic to what is going on in the movie This purely an entertainment for the eyes and ears
@ixigia: I think it will be ok to see the dubbed version as there are not many spoken parts and they are mostly short sentences. See it in 3D if you can. Movie doesn't abuse in-your-face effects, but has very good depth of field effects
Most of the movie relies on environmental storytelling and the dialogue is quite sparse really.
And yeah, WhiteBarbie. I was quite surprised that the 3D wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although I still maintain the movie should have been called Imperator Furiosa
Come to think of it the last movie I watched in a theater was The Raid 2
dont they screen movies as original version in duceland?
havent seen it yet here, but there is always an english screening atleast a few times a week. but my problem is i dont wanna go to the movies alone and most of my friends dont watch movies in english cause they suck at it ^^
I hated Mad Magoo's mumbling, but I'd still prefer it over some dubbed bapediboopedy mumbling.
So eventho I loved the movie... I'd still advise to wait for a non dubbed version. Btw, don't they have an English and a dubbed version? Like they do with kids movies in the civilized world
oh you guys <3
Unfortunately no.. there's no alternative here because no one would watch the English version anyway, so they don't even bother (even trailers are dubbed, go figure). Ironically this is really a heritage of the fascist era that doesn't want to go away, as if those bastards didn't do enough damage already xD
But yeah I'm tempted because this is all about action, though I know that hearing voices that don't match would still annoy me a lot and ruin the atmosphere . The last movie that I watched at the cinema was the third Hobbit, not the brightest choice, because between its inner crappiness and the cringey boopi voices I wanted to disappear from my seat like Houdini.
I saw it, and didn't really see where the hype is. I mean, the movie is good, but it's not WOW. Tom Hardy had so little lines to say in the movie, if he died at the end I'd be like: meh, whatever...

Holy shit. Back from the marathone in cinema. This movie is completly amazing and makes 1 and 2 look downright bad
And holy cow if it doesnt put other new action movies to shame. Constant action with no shaky cam! Explosionfest!

not watching (and listening) that movie in cinema is a crime and should be punished.

but picture looks very nice, but flickers too much
go go ixi, audio will be shit in cinema anyway with all the babidi bubidi, so may as well have shite enough screen quality to go hand in hand or rather dick to ass with it.
So disappointed. Yeah the visuals were great, action choreography was spot on but I felt absolutely no connection with any of the characters. Dialogs, what little of them were in the movie, were downright dumb and cringeworthy, there was no background story, plot was as barebone as it gets... Oh and they went really overboard with some things like that stupid guitar player.
On its own it would be a decent action flick, but as a Mad Max it sucks. I will even put MM3 above this one.
Stupid guitar player ?!
That was an morale booster in a madmans religious army !

LOVED IT. Loved every minuted of it. My only gripe is that Max could use more character to himself.
9.5/10
Also guy responsible for polish subs translation did a great job to catch the spirit of postapo in polish names and stuff.
Also who noticed that at the beginning of the movie the "War Boys" chant was done to the Duran Duran's "Wild Boys" rhythm?
Nice touch!

I loved the way the background story was handled.
In a regular hollywood film, Max would travel with a wise old man and a young man who left his village for the first time. The old man would explain EVERYTHING to the young man (and the viewer) beforehand. He would tell you everything there is to know about the involved factions before you even meet them.
When you then see them for the first time, it will be redundant and won't offer you anything new.
This film is radically different. Nothing is explained twice and only ~30% is explained by words. The rest is told visually and by the character's behaviour.

If having the most simplistic of plots, flat characters and stupid, barely existent dialogues can be counted as radically different than yeah. Mad Max was basically relegated to the support character role, we had no insight into his motivations, he tries dumping the girls in the desert and 30 minutes later he sacrifices himself willfully, timelines dont seem to work in relations to the original movies, and in a world where every drop of oil is supposed to be precious they have this huge vechicle dedicated to be a rocknroll stage etc. It was all just really dumb.
I guess I fail to appreciate the pewpew that much.
