I'm enjoying the game alot but there's still zero excuse for the poor performance ffs.
If I turn everything to max detail (minus AA) I occasionally end up with like 20fps... for a game that looks like it's from 2005.

Aw, that sucks to hear. When I played the recent-ish pre-release beta a couple of weeks ago and saw that it still had the same exact performance issues as the earlier versions, I imagined that there was no hope.
Will download everything again tonight. It's a shame, because it's indeed a decent game, it only has the misfortune to be dressed as a hobo with severe drinking problems  |

Indeed the game is not well optimized.
Physics are too heavy, especially in the "pinball" sequences, where you can litterally see the engine heart tear apart

well it runs much better than the earlier builds I tried , but still far from perfect. As for game-play I love it so far

Tried it briefly. The damage model on the cars are pretty good, although there's no reason why that should cost so much performance though. What's really shitty is that you can't pan around the camera with your mouse. Can only do that if you have a gamepad. Avoid like the plague until they've fixed abovementioned issues.

Optimization... not even once. I think only Warmachine had worse performance than this.

I admit I finished it before last 2 builds, which was crappy...
Did they improve loading times, or still like 5 minutes between one level and next? |
well compared to last early build i tried its much better aswell , but it still take around 20-40 seconds for me (much faster than GTA5 which loads for minutes for me)
But i guess i will wait a little more
As for performance - iń MP its horrible , in SP its fine stable 30 on my ancient laptop.
There seems to be something really wrong with physics which causes the performance issues |
I can confirm that the loading times are better for me too (relatively though, since my 5 year old HDD has seen better days), but that's the only thing sadly..apart from the gameplay, which I like.
The average framerate on the other hand is still very low, no matter the settings used  (having everything enabled or disabled barely makes any difference). Not being able to achieve 60fps with a 970 is quite preposterous considering the retro-vintage look.
The game should have stayed in early access for another 6 months, at least  |

i really loved the series, especially 2. tdr was nothing special, but this is just crap. looks shit, runs like shit, plays like shit, 11gb wasted
