PS Depending on weather conditions and time of the day the game can look really beautiful or really fugly

Ugh that werewolf quest...
Spoiler: | On the first try, he was regenerating health quite fast. I died and then reloading save he was not regenerating anymore. Bugged I guess. Anyway, after I got his health down and cutscene commenced, I chose to kill the beast but immediately after I regained control the thing jumps me and I'm dead again, didn't stand a chance as I was already low health. God damn it |

Quote: | By now it's clear why The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt doesn't look nearly as good as the 2013's trailer: even in its current uber beautiful form, the game is simply too demanding for today's hardware.
To play on Ultra settings at 1080p you'll need a R9 290 just to average 36fps and your minimum will be as low as 18fps. Meanwhile, the GTX 770 was good for an average of just 30fps and would dip to 16fps on occasion. The game looks impressive with maxed out settings, though we are not sure it's impressive enough to warrant such low frame rates when playing at 1080p on high-end GPUs. |
My sentiments exactly. It's good, but it's sure as hell not good enough to have this kind of performance.

@madness Use bombs and potions, ye you have to get him twice, had to turn down the difficulty because of it being so OP compared to everything else in the game.

I can't get into it... The game is fine and all. Looks great and so on but I just find it boring so far (after first ciri controllable moment). Characters are strength of this game but the rest is so uninteresting so far...
The world is indeed huge but it's mostly empty plains with some trees. All the villages and camps filled with plenty of npc... and no one to talk to. Something feels off. I will continue playing because I like characters and want to see how they develop.
But what is certain is, terrible controls, ui and high spec requirements. A bit too high imo

I actually like it because of the two points you mention. It doesn't give me the "too much crammed into too little a space" feeling I get from most RPGs, and it doesn't have a bazillion generic NPCs which spew out the exact same bullshit. This is easily the most realistic gameworld I have seen in any RPG. I don't feel like skipping anything in this game, even the smallest thing seems to have a purpose.

yep I really how you there is no black and white morality line what's good/light/paragon and what's wrong/dark/renegade. There is no exact line .... just a lot of personalities in war torn world - some are desperate, some are assholes and some just took a change for themselves

I like how I randomly picked a monster clearing contract for a remotely located house and managed to meet Spoiler: | Letho |
And then we went questing with a said character. Pretty nicely unexpected surprise and as far as I can tell, not related to the main quests at all

What exactly is the purpose of fucking up FOV when using Witcher sense? Am I supposed to be immersed in detective mode or something? Retarded. Make it an on/off option atleast dipshits.

So ... HairWorks fucks things up and should be disable since it's not worth the huge FPS drop.

yep, if feels like a lived in world that existed before you started the game, unlike most open worlds nowadays that revolve around you.
the game is simply a masterpiece, and i like it alot more than even witcher 1.

Is there some kind of list of must-apply-before-play tweaks to eliminate some common issues? 1.03 here.

Thanks.
I have a shitty ancient 670, will try on medium.
I'm mostly interested in preliminary fixes and performance tweaks, not in quality tweaks.
