Ah, there's an idea. Will probably do the same next time. I really liked Van Helsing, so far, but the tower defense was....ungh...

The tower defense mini-game in-game was amazing addition.

The class system and other changes means that you will not be able to import a existing savegame from VH2, however for their next project the developers aim to connect all three games, whatever that might result in. Smile

You can't import your character which is really lame.

Gameplay is similar but the level design seems pretty bland at times.

well
VH1 release date: May 22, 2013
VH2 release date: May 22, 2014
VH3 release date: May 22, 2015
Originally planed space between each part of trilogy was supposed to be half a year.

so isnt that obvious?

Still... pretty cool they managed to release each part exactly within a year of the previous release. Surprised

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Just read the negative reviews for this:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/359900/

Seems the devs went retard when they decided to this time strip features, that were included in previous games

54% / 46% (228 reviews). Hmm. Sad

Anybody tried part III yet? Don't want to download if it's that bad.
Thanks.

Somehow, i think they ran out of money. They've made that Deathtrap stuff, as they were "listening to the fans" and i don't think that tower defense game was the outstanding success they thought it will be. So they ended up slaughtering the final part of Van Helsing. But again, just my speculation.

It's okay, but definitely not up to par compared to the first 2.

Mind you, I had to give up on the 2nd one the other day with constant crashing that I can't resolve.

I'm about halfway through the 3rd one and it is basically the same as the first two but dumbed down a bit.

It's pretty mediocre.. I finished playing it in coop with a friend.. Unacceptable bugs(like always falling through the ground at a specific place and failing to proceed further) , still crashes on OSX, some skills are bugged.

its okay Wink something might feel dumbed down (but imo not at the levels of of 3rd games Sacred and Diablo series and calling it slaughtering is a bit overkill)
At lest the performance is much much better. The new character system was imo weird design choice for finale of pre-planned trilogy (they should do it for next IP and next for finale of trilogy). All in all i would rate it little below VH1 and same as VH2. (VH1-9,VH2-7,5,VH3-7,5)
Kinda glad thy dint stick to their plans of releasing them half a year after one another.

@prudislav

I dunno about general performance but it takes ages to get to the main menu. I mean the initial load when you start the game. The first game was much faster in this regard.

Judging by reviews it seems to be a shitty closure to a series I really liked Sad Assholes. By the time I finish WItcher (loooooong time), they might improve it with patches.

Thanks everyone. Guess, I'll skip it for now. I 'really 'enjoyed part I. Even liked the tower defense shit. However, part II got boring after a while. Oh, well. Sad

I really enjoyed first episode too. Episode two already was more boring at times. And from what i read about episode three i probably will never touch it. For the story i didn't really give a fuck

Me neither. This must be a clever plot to get us to buy it, despite its poor reviews Laughing
