As you can see, platforms specified are Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but the youtube link is for the Operation Anchorage DLC and it's dated March 2009.

Oblivion with guns was OK, Skyrim with guns would be pretty great.

Never liked FO3. But then, I never liked Oblivion either.
Since I was bored to tears by Skyrim ... I just really doubt this could be interesting.
Unless Obsidian is working on it as well - that would be something.

Well it was, you get fast and strong crossbow in Dawnguard which acts almost as a shotgun, it was a complete madness. I played the rest of game only using crossbows.

If Bethesda follows the rule "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", we are fucked. Most people seemed to enjoy their follow the arrow promenade in the most predictable world ever created.

My biggest issue with FO3 is that I don't think Bethesda captured the essence of what the first two Fallout games were about.
It's also hard to stomach the bad writing in FO3 after the superb writing in the originals. Skyrim had slightly improved writing over Oblivion and FO3, so maybe Beth writers are finally starting to improve a little bit?

Yeah, I don't think FO3 captured the spirit of the originals either. Far from it, in fact.
I couldn't shake the feeling, that it is basically a reskinned TES game.
Skyrim might have been better, I know I played it for around 10-12 hours, got very bored of it. Can't remember anything from the storyline, not even the premise of it. All I remember is, I was killing the stupid level scaled dragons like there was no tomorrow.

FO3 for me was a bunch of ideas from and about Fallout stiched up together like "Fallout had this ghoul Harold we have to have him and Enclave, yeah we have to have Encalve too, etc.". Never finished it.
New Vegas on the other hand, totally loved it even with its shortcomings.

That was the deal breaker for me. I think if they had made a series "inspired" by Fallout, rather than set in the same universe, I would have been able to look past a lot of it. |
