Freedom and exploration is what I want from those games and it's what I get (and yes the whole setting/atmosphere). The hundreds of hours I spend in the TES games and Fallout's tell me I'll be fine with the next one if they give more of the same.

And I still consider Witcherinas to be quite different games than these. So yes, you'll get over TW3 and start enjoying other games again, it's just a phase. Wink Razz

Because I'd end up spending two weeks just modding the damned thing, then another 60-80 hours playthrough. I've got an ever-growing backlog, I don't need to add another 80 hour epic of a game I've already played/finished multiple times Sad

FFS, I too wanted to play Fallout 3 again this weekend, downloaded the GOTY version and a shitload of mods, only to get arsefucked by the game actually not starting at all and instead referring vaguely to some xlive.dll file or wtf. I even tried the GFWL disabler mod, but it needs the game to be started at least once, which I couldn't accomplish...

Needless to say, I got pissed off and deleted the whole shit. Why Beth won't patch out GFWL is beyond me.

Why just not install GFWL and THEN use the disabler? You can uninstall it after.

Ironically, I've never heard any of the Fallout 3/NV "soundtrack" (except for the radio music) because I always replace the music with the original Fallout 1 and 2 music which fits the game way better. I remember playing Fallout 3 with the original music and quickly thinking "OMG this music sucks".

Exploration, risk vs reward, money having some sort of value, decent items to find in the world that aren't all redundant because of crafted items... and so on.

With dem Beth games that's the best approach really.. wearing our Indiana Jones hats and exploring every single corner of the map, disregarding the reason why you go there in the first place. The sky is the only limit! (though F4 has airships too, so who knows).

Sometimes you just accept quests/talk with people and then instantly forget about it because you head to a certain direction and randomly discover a new location, but that's also part of the experience, the oh-piece-of-candy way xD

Though there's another potential dilemma that could turn the game into a nightmare.
How hard will be to resist the temptation to start a new playthrough every week because awesome mods keep getting released on daily basis Cool Face
*Creates a character*
*plays for 20 hours*
->FO4 Wanderers Edition Hardcore beta released! (requires a fresh start)

Okay
*Creates a new character*
*plays for another 20 hours*
->Overhauled Economy and Loot RC1 released!! (requires a fresh start)
Rage Okay
*Creates another new character*..and so on, till the end of times Very Happy Laughing

Thats the thing I find interesting about this new fallout game. The mods that will undoubtedly get made for it.
Looking forward to "A Tale of Three Wastelands" which moves Fallout 3 and New Vegas into the Fallout 4 engine. Razz

Indeed! That would be amazing. With some luck the conversion process won't require too much time, I guess it all depends on the amount of 'Gamebryioness' present in Fallout 4. Bethesda will likely keep throwing hissy fits, but that certainly won't stop the community from doing them a favour and improve their games with great mods Mobster with a Fag Very Happy

Probably not too hard once you realise they cost $9.95 each.

Yep.
Hope someone will have the balls to ask them flat out if the mods are going to be paid or not instead of the usual soft-balling and felating questions that idiot journos do.

Maybe angryjoe.

A valid logic ofc, but I don't want that crap on my PC. Last time it was quite a pain in the ass to get rid of it completely in the first place. If I have to choose between playing with GFWL installed or not playing at all, I choose the latter.

Is the F3 actually running well on win7/8?
I recall seeing a disclaimer on the Steam page.

Speaking for non-fisherprice windows, yes it runs perfectly with a small ini fix.
