Eh, seriously, just play it already.
After 70 hours i only encountered 1 very minor bug (camera stayed zoomed in) and another more or less annoying one (could not get a gwent card from one tavern, as the owner left it after a quest).

But I want the first time to be special, without dumb bugs like dropping all mutagens to craft. also, page 420, toke it up boys Razz

4.000.000 copies * 50 euros/bucks/whatever (average) = 200.000.000 in the first 2 weeks ??

They don't make 50 bucks per sale. Perhaps 20 on average.

Still, they said they've recouped dev costs on the first day of release.

not a single dlc released thus far has been really worth it, even the quest ones aren't anything special and are very short

yeah coz releasing hats and some skinned cards for free is so noble of them

would have prefered 2 lenghty contract quests worthy of real money but released as free instead of 16 useless things just for marketing purpose

On COD. Now that's a game that knows how to handle DLC.

I would have prefeered for them to make Witcher 3 for free and continue making long quest DLC's for the next 2 years, free of course.

Are these DLC's rather pointless? Yes they are, but i know a couple of publishers that would charge for them (cmon Sega chargers for reskins in their TW games etc.).

I just can't understand how you can complain about free stuff, even if it is from a marketing perspective.

It's obvious by now that free dlcs were nothing but publicity stunt. With the last one being especially lousy.

I for one really loved those DLC armors, especially Nilfgaard armor. Only gripe is you can't upgrade them and increase their level/stats (bet there are modders working on it as we speak).
Now lets compare those DLC's to other RPGs paid DLC's:

- Dragon age 2 comes first with 3 sets of armor, each one priced 2,99$;
- Mass Effect 3 follows with assorted companion skin packs for 1,99$ each; an interactive comic for 3,99$; weapon packs for the SP campaing at 1,99$ each;
- Then comes FFXIII and charges 3,99$ for EACH costume for Lightning in Lightning Returns; 1$ for every weapon RECOLORING.

But yeah, CDPR is doing it wrong. Rolling Eyes

That's like comparing getting kicked in the balls and not getting kicked. Yeah, not getting kicked is better but you see the logical fallacy here, right?

These DLC are ok, nothing special, clearly were cut from the game or at least intended as dlc from the start and are there just for marketing purposes.

Well, so what would be the logical step? Just sell them like every other company does and not give a fuck? I'd might as well do it, since ppl will complain anyway if they're giving for free what everyone else is charging for.
I know it's prolly cut from the game, but other companies cut content and sell it. And we're not talking about a greedy few of them, but the majority. And that's my point. Just the fact they are not selling it like everyone else is already a plus in my book. If it was Squeenix or Activision, we would be prolly shelving money for Skellige at this point.
And yeah if everyone were kicking me in the nuts, i would gladly thank someone that decided it wouldn't.

@fawe4 @dsergei @Interinactive @StEFaN7

to you guys.

As I've said many times, there seems to be a blindspot where CDPR is concerned ("scales!") where anything they say or do is construed as godlike and anyone questioning it or showing dissent is immediately set upon. Is it "good" that we get these 16 DLCs for free? Yes, of course, it's more content and that's always a fine thing ... but anyone thinking CDPR ("We started out as pirates, so let's send threatening legal letters to pirates!") are doing this out of the good of their hearts, rather than it being a blatant marketing strategy, is just being delusional.

Be happy we've got it, just don't be under any illusions that this is all original content made for us because they love us. It's plainly taken from the base game and used as a bargaining chip.
