that glow shit needs to go. seems to be an indicator you can insta kill, but its atmosphere breaking and i want it gone.

i do like some of the animated interactions though, like the neck snap and the chainsaw...

that said... im not sure about the game... to be honest, im getting more into atmospheric, slower paced horror shooters, so this fast paced call of duty/serious sam style im not sure will really hold my attention? oh well, we'll see.

This looks like expected.. Shit, overscripted shooter. I liked it when games let the player do stuff, not press 'e' to play animations.

Shooting looks ok. Nice that it's Rip'n'Tear. The letdown is the demon design, they just took brown turds from D3 which look like generic alien design. Meh... Good that there is Brutal Doom.

It's just the scripted shit completely kills the immersion, makes it seem your not even playing something.

Fuck monster, boom!, oh he's an invulnerable scripted bullshit.. Damn waste of ammo better continue on, fuck a barrier used to be able to jump in games, guess I'll press 'e' to animate over it. Explosion!!! Fuck I can't move now watching my char moving through space and time. Damn my guns are now gone guess this is scripted stealth section of the game.. Oh great dialog section.. Been half an hour now I have only pressed forward key and 'e' in the last 40 mins.

The fuck you talking about man? Laughing The carefully scripted encounters look and run like any other game ever made. It's not Metro stupid level of control taking scenes and scripts and it's not on rails COD set pieces. It's very similar to Doom 3 or even the first 2, where you could sometimes see the hand placed enemies that were waiting for you to cross their line of sight so you'll triger them.

Looks fairly good, but these clips look like the ones presented last year at quakecon. So a year old. And at least another year to go. I would like to see some more recent stuff and more randon sequences, with other areas. There's time i quess

Anyone bitching about this game should go ahead and pour a glass of water into your machine. Your getting frenetic Doom combat with all the glorious visceral gore. No cover system, no regen health. Full weapon selection. Not to mention a simple and intuitive level and gameplay editor. This is as close to the perfect Doom 2 sequel you will ever get. Cutting away all the boring pitch black corridor slogging of Doom 3. Not to mention it still has maybe 6-8 mths of dev time left. For me its going to be very hard to top this during the rest of the show.

Yeah, pretty much it.
You forgot there are no iron sights and acogs CoD style. Looks fun.
I quite like it. Besides of flashing ammo/health icons jumping out of the dead.
Shotgun is back, yay!

I admit there's a lot of room for improvement, which can be done in whatever development time it's left. The kind of game it is lends itself for that. But in its current state as shown in thet conference? tsk tsk tsk

Slomo adds to dat cinematic experience. Changing weapons mid combat with a shitload of enemies bearing down on you only to realise your low on ammo is one of the great joys of a game like Doom. Save the so-called cinematic horseshit for cutscenes cause im sure there will be plenty of them.

I only watche the first of the two videos posted here (gotta go) but this looks like Doom 3 inspired - which I didn't expect. I like it.
