Have to admit to my shame i never played them so i don't really get the hype, i really want to play them for some time now since so many people seem to love them, i have a dreamcast but not the games so i think i might try emulating them.

Sony will definitely help out, 2 million is a ridiculous goal for a Shenmue game. they would be committing career suicide without promise of other backing.

it will be at least Double to four times that amount... they already almost reached their goal and it's still time for breakfast here Smile

Btw is this still the best NullDC version for this game : http://www.shenmuedojo.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=46995
a friend recommended it to me since it includes some costum fixes.
I heard Demul might work better in some cases.

Just managed to get demul working \o/

Gonna start playing this now.

I think i prefer demul as it has quicksave capabilities + it doesn't have some weird shadow marks that I get with NullDC.

I never understood fascination with this one. It has horrendous combat, even worse controls, and on top of that, a very basic revenge story that never went anywhere.

The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter broke $1 million faster than any video game before it through crowd-funding, and the second fastest to reach $1 million out of any Kickstarter project ever. However, it has obtained its goal of $2 million in 8.5 hours (8 hours, 33 minutes to be exact), and has become the fastest video game to reach $2 million in crowd-funding as well, and the fastest of any Kickstarter Project to achieve its goal of over $2 million or more in any category on Kickstarter.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I cant comment on how it has aged, but when i played it i would argue the opposite on the combat, it was insanely good (its virtua fighter!!!!!!)

yes the story is simple and the controls are wonky, but the world detail, and character building that this game possessed was simply way ahead of its time, and considering i played them both on release, they totally blew open the possibilities of gaming when i was younger.

its easy to dismiss any old beloved game in the same way you just have, but that's short sighted and completely besides the point.

every old game has glaring faults by comparison to current day standards.

If it hit $2M already if Sega were smart they would announce 1&2 HD collection within the week.

It all depends on how much money Sony will cough up.

That's the version I have "full stop", I use it on most my DC titles that don't play well in Demul. Demul is still the best emu for Shenmue, I'm absolutely sure of it, but it doesn't hurt to have both.. just in case Smile

And yep... fastest backing game on Kickstarter yet. It was the fastest to hit $1m and now the fastest to hit $2m Very Happy

Go troll elsewhere with your Magic PC that Magically plays the game looking and running better than anyone else, including all the major review and benchmark sites. Go on, shoo. loool

no plan to delay SFV on PC even though Sony are pretty much completely funding that game.

they see us as a bonus market they can get some money out of, and not a direct competitor it seems.

Not really when you consider that it was released in 2000. That's the same year Deus Ex was released! That it appears glaringly outdated today is only a product of being outdated then.

The list of perfectly playable, and quite honestly superior all around, games from the period is staggering. You have The Longest Journey, Chrono Cross, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Planescape Tournament, System Shock 2, Gabriel Knight 3, Soulcalibur, Baldur's Gate 2, Escape from Monkey Island, No One Lives Forever...

Maybe it was a decent game that got overlooked by all the great releases at the end of millennium, but it certainly didn't warrant the praise it got from the press. It was overyhped, it cost too much time and cash to make, and it ultimately didn't deliver.
