Well, I updated and it works fine...fixes alot of the slow down problems, runs pretty smoothly...now, if I could only figure out how to play this fuckin game, Id be good...

I can auto-fly to targets and shit, but how do u manually fly? at a decent speed aswell...I see other ships flying by me superfast...and my ship just crawls along....

Bah, don't want to bother with disconnecting the drives. Its likely within a week a cracked version will be released anyway. It happened that way with Space Rangers 2.

Kinda annoying having to disconnect the drives, but hey.. can't complain if it's free, right? Smile

Although I am considering buying this one just for the manual! maybe it's just me, but this is one complex game. Enjoying it so far though..

Also, I've always been one to appreciate gameplay over graphics.. but oh man, it's worth playing this just to sit there and look at it!! beautiful. Shocked

The SFcure method seems to work very well on laptops and doesnt require you to disconnect anything. Just run sfcure and sfn and thats it. But of course you need a fast laptop. Runs very well on an i9300 w/6800go.

I`ve played all games from X series and I must say that this control stile is the simplest. In previous parts you had to learn some shortcuts because it was reealy hard to play without of them.

Normal drives for short distances, press J for medium distances and use the gates for anything longer.

How would you guys rate this in comparison to X2? Better? Worse? And does the patch optimize for increased fps at all? From the sounds of it you guys have pretty decent systems but shitty fps.

Damn. This game looks better than I expected. How are the character models? Are they as bad as X2? Or at least tolerable this time round?

Funny thing is, it seems MY system is at a disadvantage because its mostly those with 7800GTXs that seems to have high end system problems.

Yeah i dont understand why they try to model characters and build a story. Seriously how many percent does the story provide to this games total value? Like 2% or something. The charactermodels? 0% Razz

This is not a strategy game. Its a Trading Space Sim game. So its not a normal Space sim like Freepsace 2 either. TRADING space seems are MUCH slower paced with an emphasis on TRADING EMPIRES. You get what I am saying?

run's great on my amd64 clawhammer with a 6800gt.
i recommend a joystick, like the ms sidewinder2 prec. ... works great and gives a real spaceflight sim feeling. so you can easily control your movement, throttle etc. pp.
