Played a few matches these days on casual for relax and met so many with legendaries wtf, i mean you have legendaries go play fucking ranked; lucky for me, im with jaina so polimorph comes in handy alot. The other day played against a priest, dont remember if it was a legendary card but after some buffs he made it with around 16 attack and 42-44 hp...i laughed for like 10 minutes when i behehehe-d him
anyway TonySoprano#2127 on bnet , cos i have like 2 ppl in the friend list
Well, i play on casual often when i reached rank 5, as i dont like the grinding from there on.
And adding people after a win is sometimes hilarious
had same experience... posted that shit to mods, they gave me high five ... i was like ...OK ... got free sword ... never came back to this game again don't like MMOs

The solo adventures bring so many broken cards to the game that easily make this p2w.
Everyone except me seems to have them all aswell...
You should never play ranked (or at least not expect to win in ranked) until you have a decent deck. Otherwise the game will seem unfair. The arena can be extremely rewarding and also fun; furthermore, if you're good in the arena then it doesn't matter whether you're a brand new player or not.

that i'd disagree with since those cards are guarenteed so you can get them yourself, grinding the gold isnt too hard at the start as you get lots of free gold from achievements
After Gwent from Witcher i am interested in some card games
How much fun (or how high are the chances to win) can one have with Hearthstone as a casual player? Meaning playing only a few times per week and not buying anything with real money?
Enthoo Evolv ATX TG // Asus Prime x370 // Ryzen 1700 // Gainward GTX 1080 // 16GB DDR4-3200
Pretty good chances actually. You get one quest a day which can give you either of 40/60/100 gold or a pack outright. Quests stack upto 3. Each day you can also try to change a quest - as in change a 40 to a 60 one etc.
100 gold buys you a pack and 150 gold gets you into arena
In Arena you make a deck from randomly given cards and go up against players with random cards. Your arena run ends when you lose 3 matches.
Even 0 wins will give you one pack and about 20/30 gold and dust.
The two adventures released can be brought in tiers ( Each adventure has 5 tiers ) for 700 gold for each tier.
As for fun a lot! Winning chances too! Especially in casual. In ranked too you can do pretty well with standard decks to about lvls 15 odd.
And since opening packs is entirely random you might end up with awesome cards.
Also the game rewards you with a lot of free gold when you start besides quests.
300 for defeating AI heroes
300 for leveling up to 10
300 for 100 wins etc
pretty much what devastator said, but arena and adventures aren't worth it for at least the first 2 weeks when you start. arena because without skill, you're buying expensive card packs and while the adventures contain some essential cards, a few thousand gold are a bit hard to come by in the beginning.
check sites like hearthpwn for f2p decks, then just buy a bunch of classic/gvg packs and upgrade your basic decks. in the beginning, you're best off playing aggro/zoo/midrange decks (for classes i'd suggest maga/paladin because they're easy to learn, warlock/hunter because you can build effective decks for little cost) and when you've got the basics down, check out arena videos on youtube (trump and adwcta/arena coop are the best imo) and get started in arena, ideally choosing your quests so the fit your arena run. fastest way to build up your collection without much frustration. oh and you might consider just conceding a bunch of times in casual so you drop down to a MMR that doesn't pit you against average players (= idiot wallet warriors oder good players with crap decks).
imo, net decking is actually great for new players just to see how different archetypes work out, and to some extent it also shows you how a decent arena deck should look like (zoolock being a prime example). you also usually avoid crafting unnecessary fluff cards, which one should take into consideration, given how hard dust is to come by in the beginning. later, you start to modify netdecks and then build your own. was my process, at least. for completely random stuff i prefer arena though. more fun, gold, and also gives me a bit of a kick compared to casual/ladder.
the problem is just that around 80-90% of the ladder is filled with cookie cutter meta netdeck shit since people are apparently too fucking lazy/dumb to even swap tech cards - which makes casual atually the better game mode since people there at least play funny stuff from time to time (randuin wrynn ftw).

Recently arena at least for me has gone completely fluff too. I play only against Paladins. Just the other day was Paly myself with a fairly ok deck, faced a paly with 4 Truesilvers, and was wrecked immediately
it's an extra mode with silly cards which counts towards quests and gifts you a free pack for winning one game...not exactly something to bitch about
They could had done the rotation a little faster, seeing this is #300something (was yesterday at the top instead of the brawl title). Meaning they have so many combinations ready already for this mode.
Though I presume they will increase it maybe after some time. Still a little bit underwhelmed by it, not quite what I expected.

the truesilvers - while always good value - aren't that much of a problem imo, think about warrior, deaths bite and arcanite are better value overall. it's the combination of truesilvers with shielded minibots, mustard and dragon consorts that sucks (especially in pala vs pala when you don't have it yourself)

well, at least they didn't completely fuck up the launch this time and when you can build your own deck within given rules, it should provide more longevity than Mr. OP vs Mr. MOAR OP
