|
 |
Today I decided to put SP2 on. Got Office 2003 SP1 on so thought I could use my "Microsoft Office 2003 With Service Pack 2 All In One" - XiSO to simply do the upgrade. Unfortunately the install asks for the MS Office 2003 Pro Disc to be inserted. Tried several old SP1 discs but it would not take any of them. Anyone have advice (aside buying that bastard):
1. Uinstall my SP1 Office and do a reinstall?
2. Format
Hope there are better options then these two.
Thanks

What to do with a an Office 2003 SP1 install that asks for a disc you don't have to upgrade to SP2?

Looks like I would be in the same boatm, where it won't do the upgrade unless I have the discs. Might have to just uninstall Office 2003 SP1 and start over with Office 2003 SP2 Admin install. Or live with SP1 for a bit longer....

Or create the standalone office 2003 sp1 iso, mount that one and use the update.
Somehow it won't install when using the dvd.
(I assume you have an aio office 2003 sp1 too )

Nope i have a 5 Disc 2003 Pro SP1 & DVD All In One SP1. Tried inserting Disc 1 of the 5 Disc version but it would not except.
Don't have the AIO version of SP1.

The DVD all in one sp1 has an option to create standalone isos (if it's the xiso release).
So you could create the office 2003 SP1 iso from that.

Yeh, that might work. I'll give a shot over the weekend. Thanks. If all else fails I will just do a reinstall from scratch. However, does not look like SP2 is worth much.

Yes, but won't it ask for the disc or some sort of activation?

You can download and install each Office Service Pack from the web as a standalone package. You should be able to update your SP1 install with that SP2 file. I was never asked for any activation, but i have a legit copy of Office 2003, maybe thats why, just try it.

Might give a try but if the SP2 Admin disc is asking I kind of doubt the downloads won't ask.
