Mixed feelings premiere. Some good stuff, some bad stuff. At first glance Farrell and Vaughn play the most interesting characters (and both do a good job), add to that list Vaughn's character's wife. McAdams and Kitsch (and their characters) pretty weak so far.
We'll see how that goes next week.

i liked it alot. nice build up for more great episodes. farrell didn't let me down... such a good actor. from vaughn i didn't expect anything and was kindly suprised. this may be his first role that i like.
only thing i didn't like: new intro music. it's ok that they change it but this song just doesn't deliver anything

Slow first ep.... but I fully expect there to be more that happens.
Also... I didn't really like that theme/intro music....

Sounds like it's as good as the first season then. Wasn't exactly spectacular from episode 1.

+1
I was hoping they would use the same theme from the first season. Maybe the new one will grow on us lol.

Even though we probably won't get the level of quality in the interactions of S1 at least the plot is potentially much more interesting. The fictional city of Vinci where Farrell's and Vaughn's characters live and work in is based on the "enclosed" city of Vernon, California which was involved in an investigation a few years ago:

That was good.
Loved all the music in it, the guy in charge of that nailed it again

Am I the only one who kinda liked the intro? The music, scenes were nice. Slow building episode but fits.

Not bad, not bad at all
Was expecting to hear Lera Lynn's song, but how can you say no to some mighty Cohen
I enjoyed this first episode, it was exactly as I expected, didn't start with a bang for the obvious reason and it set up all the characters and their motivations moving forward. Both the cinematography and acting seem solid enough to form a strong bond and suit the different style. It's all up to mastro Pezzolatto, don't try to let us down!

It was really nice however I enjoyed s01e01 more than this one.I especially liked the setting and color palette of the first season, well, and , of course, Matthew and Woody were glorious

Too many characters. They should've stuck to season 1's method of only focusing on a couple people.

No we won't. Because the show only has 8 episodes like the first season.
That said the new intro looks better than the S01 but the song for S01 was better.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

S01 had that amazing ass shot with those spikey heels though. You just cannot top that image. Even my mom was impressed.
