This expansion pack seems more like an EE to me, which like D:OS could just come for free.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
What the... why are they splitting an expansion pack into two?
Money. Obsidian are always on the verge of bankruptcy. Cash flow has always been an ongoing problem for them (and as the owner of a small business, I feel their pain). If they split it in two, the can sell the first half and generate some revenue while working on the second half. If they kept it as a single piece of content, they can't make any money until they finish developing the lot (aside from pre-orders I guess).

It's a whole new area (or areas). It supposed to be the equivalent of the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion for BG1.

I kind of wish they changed how itemization works for melee classes since if you want to minmax your setup there is almost no reason to have DPS melee classes over ranged chars, and even then rogues/barbs/cyphers are better off with no armor/light armors, relagating medium/heavy armors to just your one (two) tank(s).
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
So expansion pass is the new buzzword?
But i guess i will rather see expansion passes with 2 meaty expansions than season passes with tons of worthless miniDLCs like BAK has

I can live with that. I can do without meaningless season passes.
