I don't find it funny he punched a coworker, not the punch nor the reason, I do find the SITUATION funny though. This could have all been taken care of out of the public eye, there was simply no need to make this into a big public spectacle and indeed by doing so it has backfired enormously for both the BBC and the producer.

it's very simple. the producer thought he could get some publicity by bringing in the character of jeremy clarkson into the spotlight. a character everyone was well aware of. Instead of having clarkson apologize silently in the background, they wanted to tame the beast. This twat thought he could use his powers that be and threaten a bully and the life blood of the show. It failed. BBC covered up far worse abuse stories and this one became a spotlight of how sensitive and how power hungry some of these producers are. You're working in a media where spotlight gets to peoples heads. Divas become more and more volatile. It happens. Happened with Downy Jr. Happened with Chandler. Happened with a lot of people. Heck, even Saul is someone a lot of people hate working with. But as a producer you have to take the bad and the good. You get loads of abuse? Then send in an intern to learn a valuable lesson. You get punched in the face, by a diva, lol. Man up. Just fucking man up. It's just a punch. he didn't threaten your life. He vented. And apes vent physically. I'm sure working with him all those years you were well aware of what he's capable of. And if he has at that point in time been going through it's your job to know.

How is that an excuse to constantly harass and punch someone in the face again? I fail to see how those two correlate? Clarkson was huge in the BBC. If this happened regularly, he could've told management to get rid of the producer. But because clarkson is also a huge person he just went ahead and punched the guy in the face because he didn't get a hot meal. Typical asshole behavior. Everything I read was that Tymon approved the cold food. That makes him at fault.
Lack of preparation. When you film in the boonies (as in not in London) you have to scout the area for businesses that are open. If there is nothing in the reasonable surrounding area you get the hotel to prepare the food right before they close and have it on a slow burner to keep it warm then get some PA to serve the damn food.
