i also seem to only have been able to download a "demo" not the psn+ version. so ingame when i try to play on some tracks, it tells me to download the psn+ version, but i can't download it. so i can't play the tour mode or much of anything else besides some tracks from India.
oh wow this game is crap....what a waste of a free download. I love driving games but this is one of the worst driving games ive played for many years. sense of speed is all wrong, as is the handling. the game structure, such that it is, is a mess and even the graphics are a bit so what. also a lot more is locked in this free version than sony led us all to believe, barely more than a demo. and a crap one at that.
wasn't looking forward to this particularly so no big deal but its already been deleted off the HDD to make valuable space for, well, anything can't be this bad.

yeah, that is the PS+ one - you'll see on the main menu page or somewhere in the game it says PS Plus version. and you're right, the India tracks - that's your lot! Do your PS4 a favour and delete this abomination.
As I said before, this game is a joke compared to Forza Horizon. Not sure what Sony was thinking with this one, but the gameplay is just terribly bad and really boring.
One proof that graphics don't make everything at all.
Tried the psn+ version briefly. This just feels like a demo I've downloaded and nothing else.
It really does look nice, great weather effects an d lighting, however it feels horrible. The cars feel like runaway slippery turds.
Driveclub is not a casual arcade racer and therefore it's going to take time to learn the courses and cars.
The rubber-banding AI can be occasionally frustrating but that doesn't stop this racer to feel like a good mix of arcade and sim, reminiscent of PGR.
As for the online multiplayer aspect, I thought it was better than FH2.

I think you need to play some actual sims, some semi-sims and some arcade racers mate, because this game has absolutely 0 sim-like elements. GRID 1 and Autosport are a good mix of arcade and sim. This is way more arcade than those 2; it has no sense of speed, the cars have no weight to them and grip is a foreign concept to them. The only sim-like elements are in the visuals.
Where's the Driveclub Defense Force™ though? I got a lot of shit thrown my way for saying how big of a piece of shit this game is. Oh, wait, I know, I'm an "elitist"
Sadly PS4 doesn't have any proper racing games so far. Only proper one is Project Cars but this is multiplatform anyway so meh.
I don't expect Gran Turismo 7 to be any better since GT5 and 6 were an epic fail.
As much as I'd hate to say this since I'm far from being a fanboy, the only racing games I'm not bored of are the Forza ones, sadly they are running on the inferior platform (although Forza 6 looks great considering the platform it's running on).
Maybe downgrade coming soon ? (Forza 5 was downgraded IIRC).
Werelds, I've been playing pretty much all racers from the past 20 years, FM series being my favorite one and I still don't think that Driveclub is a pile of shit.
I'm not saying it's among the top arcade/sim or just arcade racers out there, but I enjoyed it more than some of the latest NFS ones.
I don't plan to defend it as I realize this is one of those games that a few people enjoy it while the majority don't.
And cyclonefr, don't you dare jinxing FM6... I've got big expectations for it

Oh, it's definitely above the NFS games, albeit by just one step.
Even though there's few racing games, DC just isn't worth the money IMO. It fails as an arcade racer because it pretends to have realism, but then it lacks any simulation of anything anywhere. Aside from the visuals, it is just mediocre at best on all other fronts. No matter whether you want to classify it as arcade, arcade with sim elements, simcade, semi-sim, sim - in each category it is a mediocre game at best
The above is obviously for anyone who owns more than just the PS4, regardless of whether it's PS3, 360 or PC - you then have way superior options. But even as a PS4 game, with the limited catalogue - it's not worth even the €40 they want for it now. It's just not good enough as a game for that. pCARS is better and I'm pretty sure even F1'15 is better. They could release an Autosport port now and as a racing game, that would still be better (I'll ignore the crappy cockpit view for now ).

GRID is so much more arcadey than Driveclub, have you even played these games or once again you read about them on some hardware website? So whatever shit was thrown your way was well deserved.
What an absolute clusterfuck of terrible development. Delay after delay after delay, then when the "free" demo (yet it barely even qualifies as a demo... least of all the fact that it's hidden behind a paywall) finally comes out, broken I might add, it gets removed 4 months later.
Well since i sold my g25 and cant really play sims anymore this currently is my favorite racing game in the gamepad world Cant see any other alternative untill i buy another wheel.
Store pages are up now, geofiltered to Norway so I can't give US links .. but it seems you get a small discount for buying as an expansion to DriveClub. The game is 169kr standalone and 129kr as an expansion for existing DC owners.
