You're around 30% done with the main story before leaving for Skellige. As for overall content ~50% if you've done everything you can in Velen.

Just finished it now too. Took me about 120 hours on the second hardest difficulty. I did all contracts and all sidequests i found. But some of the later treasure hunts for gear i didn't do, because i already had the complete Ursine set.
Well, it definately was a great game overall. Most of the sidemissions were well above your average sidemissions in other RPGs. But sadly instead most of the contracts were bland and it was often just "track down the target and kill it".
Ending:
Spoiler: | The last few boss battles were a damn joke, because i was already overleveled and they barely damaged me. Yet those frost spikes from the low level hounds damage me good.
Had the ending were Ciri becomes Empress. Compared to the other endings it was the best. But still hoped for a more emotional one |
Also the longer i played, the more often i had to "force" myself to start up the game. Don't really know what caused it. Maybe because overall, besides some wonderful moments during sidequests and the main story, the game didn't really captivate me that much
Still a 8.5/10
Thanks

Isn't boredom inevitable after 100+ hours?

Not necessarily. |
I'm 186 hours in, finished every POI (except the water ones in Skellige), every side quest (except the final horse races in Skellige, god I've grown to hate those races, goddamn horse keeps whinnying and stopping at random times), every single treasure hunt, every single contract. I'm on the last story missions now and then I'll be done.
I haven't been bored once The story, the writing, the characters, the combat, the exploration.. I've loved it all. Admittedly I have spaced out the play sessions since it was released a *month* ago, but yeah, I've been having a blast. Not a perfect game by any means, but hands down one of the very greatest RPGs every made.

Goddamn, after playing this, the tag "cinematic experience" on any other game feels like a joke. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching an HBO show. If they achieve this quality in a cyberpunk world, I can't even imagine how awesome Cyberpunk will be.

Don't like the Griffin set; it makes Gerlat look fat. So far, Default and Cat are the only ones that fit Geralt. Temerian and Nilfgardian sets (DLC) are pretty nice too. Can't wait to get my paws on the Wolven set, though. But considering I've only just started the Novigrad questline, it's probably gonna take a while.

I tried to replay Dragon Age Inquisition after finishing Witcher 3 to see how bad it fared against it. I didn't last 30min. Just couldn't do it.

Dragon Age Inquisition is one humongous fetch quest. Literally. Everything you do revolves around going to Point A, collecting Object B, returning to Point C. Supplement collecting" with "killing" and you've got every quest in DAI to a T.

Yeah, I was forcing myself to play it because gut reviaws waiting until something good happens.
Only after Witcher 3 I see how blind I was. This game's design is a fucking MMO grind. |
Playing DAI after The Witcher 3 is like going from dating Kate Beckinsale to dating Whoopi Goldberg, definitely not recommended xD

I'm about 70 hours and ready for it to be done. Just did a jailbreak quest. With ursine armor and feline swords there's no point in exploring for gear anymore, I don't need money so there's a few quests I COULD do but I probably won't. I never did gwent. On to arkham city after this so I can play knight on ps4.

195 hours later, my epic journey with Geralt of Rivia comes to a close. Anything I say now would just be retreading over what everyone else has said, but regardless; this was one of the finest gaming experiences of my life. The world was meticulously crafted, the story was engaging, the characters were believable, the struggles and victories powerful, combat was enjoyable and varied.. this was magnificent. Not a perfect game, but very close to it, performance left a lot to be desired and the bug list was shocking to be perfectly honest.. exceeded - if not matched - only by the likes of Obsidian and Bethesda, and that simply should not happen in this day and age. The UI was merely passable in some instances and downright terrible in others and, sadly, the levelled-loot was made utterly worthless due to the expansive crafting system in the game. You craft, and use for the majority of the game, far better gear than you can find or buy -- and that, too, is a shame.
Still, I won't soon forget this game and indeed I fear now that the bar has been raised to such a level that it will negatively impact my enjoyment of other so-called "open world RPGs" to come. A bitter sweet realisation, I guess, though there's nothing to do about it now except wait and hope for games to match the quality set forth by The Witcher 3. Onward to Cyberpunk, CDPR, you've got your work cut out for you.. that's for damned sure.
10/10, would snowball fight with Ciri again.

The journey, from beginning to end, was magical, and that journey began with the first Witcher.
