I know Sabin, i know Very Happy

They had cheaper ships for "sale" before this one though, even those race ships (which i dont give a **** about)

I think they can show a lot more atm but not a lot of us have the machine to handle it anyway.

The freaking wing commander was space arcade game not space sim, its almost impossible to make dogfight simulation!!!!!

All the insane freaks asking for super duper real life space dogfight simulation at star citizen forum are INSANE and should bu put out of vote with Kris Roberts also!

Just make the damn arcade wind commander with gr8 story then add the more crap when you finish it fist FFS

FPS in space FUCK YOU!

Another permanent point of contention with me. Seeing how shitty this runs is hardly making me want to cheer the developers on, especially since there's absolutely no reason to ever expect it will run better on existing hardware.

"Designed for the future" apparently.

There is no need to make stuff run 'for the future'. Current systems can show superb graphics, and if I had the full version of the game today, I sure as hell wouldn't be complaing about the graphical fidelity.

It's another excuse, nothing more.

Star Citizen Executive Producer Departs [Updated]

Code:
The LinkedIn profile of Alex Mayberry now lists Cloud Imperium Games as a previous employer, leading to speculation that he's no longer the Executive Producer on Star Citizen, though his current position still reads "Executive Producer at Cloud Imperium Games." PC Invasion reports a response from CIG to this stated: "Needless speculation into personnel matters at CIG are neither constructive, or fair to the people being talked about." The counterpoint is that this is a high-profile position for a high-profile project that rated its own announcement at  the time the former Blizzard producer joined the team, so their 920K customers/investors already on the hook for almost $85 million for the crowdfunded space game probably have a right to be concerned with this, and CIG's lack of a denial suggests such speculation is neither "needless" nor "unfair."

Update: PC Invasion now confirms that Alex has left CIG, getting word from the company that "a lot" of his duties will be assumed by Erin Roberts.

Have good memories of the names Erin and Chris Roberts on some of my favorite games of all time.

Besides the C.V of mr. Erin speaks for himself, especially since is assuming the sp part of the project:

Strike Commander (1993)(Associate Producer)
Wing Commander: Privateer (1993)(Associate Producer)
Starlancer (2000)(Game Design)
Dangerous Streets & Wing Commander (1994)(Dogfight Choreography)
Wing Commander / Wing Commander II (Special CD-ROM... (1994) (Design)
Wing Commander (1990)(Dogfight Choreagraphy)

Philosopheraptor Fuck Yeah

In a coincidental bit of timing, Cloud Imperium also [edit: formally] announced today that it has opened a new development office in Frankfurt, Germany, which will be staffed by "some of the top game developers in this part of the world." Many of those developers were involved in the creation of the CryEngine, the game engine underlying Star Citizen.

Surprised it took them this long announcing something like this. Saw it a year ago or longer ago that a lot of people from the cry team was dedicating themselves 100% to the project. Made sense they would eventually join in an official capacity. There was even talk of them taking over people when CryTek was in trouble.

On Erin Roberts... guess he's again man nr1 to rescue his brother and bring him back to earth.

Pfft they don't WANT to deliver a release - their cash gravy train would end.

I was surprised to find this run at a steady 48fps a few days ago. Was trying out my flightstick... but scrapped that since I was too lazy to set it up (wanted to go back to playing cards and ploughing some wenches).

It seems to be running better in Win 10, but still not as it should be.

I still find it amusing that once you die, befor you respawn and you're tracking the other ships, everything runs at 60fps perfectly.

I'm just guessing here but that's probably because your ship, at that point, is not being "simmed" and thus it no longer has to do umpteen billion calculations on thrust/trajectory/shield state etc. that it does when you're alive.

It's very odd.. the stuff that CIG guy goes on about isn't really the main concerns that people have - the new web systems being the number one complaint? Maybe on planet RSI where the forums spew pastel shades of Roberts, but outside their hemisphere - people just want to know about y'know, the GAME?

It's all very well stating stuff about S42, why someone left, and release dates. Noone cares. I certainly don't care about release dates, we all knew it would take a while.

What's annoying me, and certainly many others, is the lack of STUFF being shown. I don't care about Arena Confiner, I want to see planets, starbases, big stuff, stuff relevant to the actual game, not just what we've already seen. The training mission in AC is the first time anything new was shown, and it was generally quite good.

They DO communicate very well. They just don't put much CONTENT into their communication - they rehash stuff we already know, they announce the new Fetid Penguin trawler ship (what, that's not in the game?), but they don't show STUFF.

Maybe they should just shut up shop for 6 months, fuck off, and actually do something we can actually see and understand, come back at Christmas, and proudly show off what they've accomplished. That would probably generate more sales than the next Potato Clipper.

That was actually a good set of posts with a lot of platitudes that invariably mean nothing, but still, nice to see that they're actually trying to placate people rather than just letting the toxic hoards silence all dissent. Still nothing about the grossly shit performance? Of course not. "For the future!" I'll just get on mortgaging my apartment so I can buy the three Titan-Xs that it requires.

They promised more than they can chew. They sell ships that they don't even have assets for. Come on, this Lesnick guy even mention quite a number of ships (and that's not all) they have sold and don't have anything for them. And they can't stop doing it.
They might not make it purposefully a scam but as it seems they just can bear all these shit they have promised.
