I do, usually in heavy social engagements.. my way of "dealing" is to live indoors and avoid social encounters *shrug*

The underlying cause is stress/depression. Start turning your life arouns little by little. Best start is to take looong walks while listening to music.

The part in your brain responsible for panic attacks is Amygdala. There are plenty of articles and videos on the net regarding this matter. Your amygdala is simply on high alert all the time. You have two options, medication or deal with it and try to reset the amygdala without medication. Most important thing is that no one has died from panic attacks yet. Many people recommends the Linden method. Simply say...fuck you amygdala! You're not going to ruin my life! Bitch! |
I was told I had panic attacks, but then it gets kinda blurry because I was diagnosed with SVT recently.. But anyway, I remember when I was driving once and then my heart started beating really weird (I thought it was the usual panic attack shit). I would always get really worried about it but that time I just thought, fuck it, I don't care anymore, and carried on driving, with a smile on my face. Since then I stopped getting them, and would only have it like once or twice a year.
I think that is the best advice, just stop caring about it. If it happens it happens, and you will just deal with it at that time.

I had panic attacks years ago, but suffer more from an anxiety disorder. What helps is concentrating on my breathing (can do this all day long), as thoughts dont have much power when you dont focus on them, and meditating (preferable with Lifeflow, binaural beats).
Ultimately, ignoring those feelings (but not blocking them) is the best solution.

Sure, practically before every oral exam or a resit exam, where potential failure means redoing the subject the next year. Didn't fail a resit so far (and doubt I will, I'm on my last year and the subjects are easy so you can dedicate yourself to write your masters).
Still, it's all there- extremely fast pulse, shortness of breath, dizziness, feeling sick etc.
Not so much in daily situations anymore, but I had a huge fear of calling (unknown) people, even for benign things like calling for a pizza. I was the guy who had to prepare each and every word I said in my mind before calling, and even then I was afraid the guy/lady on the other side will think I'm weird.
I kind of got over it when I had to call the court to schedule a hearing, after that day I don't have the phone fear anymore.

I take other pills to for other things (again dont like taking them) when i fall over i rattle
edit // these are also loooooooong term, i may be on them umtil i die. diazepam (have those too) is what will help "straight away", atleast in my experiance
