Mostly agree with this list:
https://www.vox.com/2015/6/21/8822159/true-detective-premiere-recap-season-2

Regardless... still better than most procedural crap.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

@Toni: Yeah, of all the complaints the soundtrack is one thing I had 0 problems with except for the retarded intro song. Although most of the list was on point.

This song should have been used in the intro. Fits the theme of the show well.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Scratch Head
Not at all. He does make some valid points and pokes fun at some of the ridiculous moments.

Compared to the first episode of Season 1, it fell short most definitely. Although this was much better than Fargo. Feel that show got way more acclaim than it deserves.

The person who wrote that article is trying way too hard Reaction

The premiere had plenty of flaws but not really the ones he "thinks" it had.

He does have a few good points in the list and some terrible points.

Also it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early to call out the reporter thing as a plot hole. It's episode 1 ffs. If that whole expose is forgotten for the rest of the season then yes, that will be a very valid point but ffs. Calling the show out on it after the 1st episode just reeks of hipster.

Plot seems straight out of a couple of James Ellroy novels, especially with what happened on this ep.

*Must..resist* Crying or Very sad
I shall be strong and continue with my own imagination Razz

It seems that the shock value really has taken over at HBO, because while it's true that it was about to happen, I wasn't prepared for the show to take such a sudden RR Pizzolatto turn. Unless it's just a rubber elaborate ruse, awkward but not too unexpected.
Anyway, I'm enjoying everything so far, including the (still mysterious) difficult backgrounds of the protagonists with their vices (dat naughty Antigone J Browman)

The guy with the shotgun had a mask, he wouldn't have worn it if he intended to shoot

By the expression of spoiler's face it's also pretty obvious those were rubber shells/beanbags.

By the way - the mask kinda reminds me the masks of Junior's men in Witcher 3 Very Happy
