The elitism disappeared from this site a long time ago. I remember the days when if some info was posted on the forums about a game, you knew that it was pretty much factual, you could count on it being correct. Now you have to wade through loads of crap to get accurate information.

I go through periods where I'm not posting much, mostly because whatever I last posted got buried, sometimes by shitposting smilies. And the fucking piece of shit forum software doesn't have a functionality to properly see your posts.
Pages go by, threads get buried, shitposting and shitposting. I propose a change in the rules where if a post doesn't contain something ontopic and meaningful (or actually funny) then it gets deleted and the user receives a strike or something.
I've been posting in this forum so long that I've gotten to be 31 years old motherfuckers, I don't always have time to read everyone's bullshit, laughing, trolling and derping, it's a forum not a chat room or fucking twitter.

I still hope deep inside that you can change your mind, not seeing you here feels very weird and your posts and humour are missed. Unfortunately it's true, these days between logistic reasons, work and life annoyances I only have limited time online :<, but hopefully it will get better in the next weeks so we may be able to arrange something.

Well i saw the problem on both ends. One, elitists trolling to the point where i didn't want to participate in the conversation, and on the other end, idiots that just got my blood boiling to the point where my ignore list spanned half of the threads i was looking in, making the threads unreadable.
Nowadays i just look on the epic thread, the gif thread, world news and sometimes the bitching section for the funny posts. Oh and PC Games for the top template and whatever trailers are posted in there. I lurk everyday, but post maybe once a month?

I think it's just a natural thing with older forum communities, I see much the same thing on RPG Codex with old time members rage quitting. People usually return after a while. |
