It looks interesting to me except for the pixel graphics and atari style characters. No gameplay quality can get me by that. I'm sooo burned out on that whole retro scene. Hell, I could get by the pixel stuff if they'd just animate it a little better. But the whole mess just screams "I'm too lazy!" to hire an artist to do real work. We'll just call it retro!

The graphics reminded me of the 90s era Apogee games. How nostalgic..
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Its good fun, my only 2 issues are the ground combat is basic, very basic. Just click and wait for stuff to die. My second is once you have killed all the stuff on a level you can then safely gather the materials, but there is nothing to do once your crew gather stuff, you just sit there and watch them run around, even on fast forward it can still take some time on the larger maps.
That being said it's still a great little game, the space combat is a lot more involved and get get quite hectic once you have a fleet of ships to control.

@dodger2020 @Yuri
I'm a fan of this kind of art, especially when it's done stylishly as this seems to be, but I do agree that we could do with impressive visuals too Who knows, perhaps this will receive visual overhauls over time? A KS done by 3 people (one of which is purely audio), but has now been picked up by Chucklefish for publishing... we could end up with Interstellaria gameplay but with the gorgeous spritework of Starbound? Om nom, sir, om nom!
@Andayle
Yup, agreed completely.. that's how I'm playing it right now. I send out my 3 armed/armoured humans to mop up the enemy (why oh why can't you equip weapons on droids? So far it's riot shield or nothing) and then I send everyone to harvest resources. It's strangely cathartic I'm definitely loving the space battles though, it really feels like combat, having to manage energy and manually dodge enemy shots ... though that's one ship, I can't imagine 3-5 of the fuckers at once, heh.
What I ESPECIALLY like is the Mario AI style pathfinding. It seems automated crew will try direct routes until they fail, then they'll automatically learn the layout and take better routes. It's very impressive! (well, except when a bug happens and the AI gets trapped in a loop causing it to keep trying to make one set of jumps but not adjusting the timing properly, so they repeat the same mistakes over and over.

All that needs doing right now is making you able to salvage more items before returning to ship.

Aye.. one item at a time is a PITA, that's for sure.
~edit~
It turns out my little copterdrone (the one you get at the start) can use guns, though he's got so little health that you daren't risk it) but my android can't use anything.. not even shields. Strangely, he doesn't level up either, he's been my main scanning officer for a while but doesn't increase in scanning skill.

Got the gog, has a lot of potential, but the combat seems kinda odd.. don't know if this was the best approach

If you yarr'd the GOG version, I strongly recommend getting my Steam copy instead, the GOG one is 1.00 and is *very* buggy with some serious blockers and breakers in it. If you bought the GOG one, patches should be out tomorrow or later according to the devs. As for combat, the ground combat is the weakest part.. it's as Andayle rightly said; click and wait for them to die. Ship combat is a lot more involved and it's really fun to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge throughout the combat arenas, taking down multiple ships with your single one

Quote: | My files are just pure files, they require a crack/Steam_emu to work -- as mentioned above, get the CODEX emulator included on the previous page. That's why the IGGGames one works, they just packaged the emulator with my files =) In the end, it doesn't matter; use whichever one works \o/ |
^^ dl your files and been playing it without any crack etc.. straight extraction from rar file and run exe... all working fine. What is this needs crack stuff about lol.

I guess that guy is just a moron then, complaining that it doesn't work. Ah well. It works for everyone else that downloaded my upload so meh to him |
Yes it seems to be not protected in any way, and I have never used any steam loaders/emu's or stuff like that.

Cool game nonetheless  |

Once you've unlocked the Ruins on Cylus, you can make shittons of money really fast. Fly to Cylus, land at the ruins, slaughter everyone there (the boss is effortless when you've got a shield-wearing guy blocking his attacks), loot the place, move to Cylus Hills, go back to the Cylus Ruins and do it all again. Once you've looted as many artefacts as you can carry, go and sell them at Anoa which is down south of the galaxy map. A fast ship will do the run in less than a minute and decent weapons will clear the area fast.
You can make $20k+ after a few minutes.
Personally I prefer this to the Yunqi<>Ongmon trading since that one doesn't seem to provide nearly as much money in one go.. and the distance from Yungi to Ongmon is ENORMOUS, 2-3x longer than the Cylus<>Anoa one, so you not only take longer doing your trades but you encounter more enemy ships on the way... further slowing your progress.
