Rofl, I know the guy (been on his team for AlterIW), he never once worried with the whole Activision thing, he shut down his project and that was all they asked, left him alone after that. He even tried for MW3 to do the same, but got shut down very quick. Now he's doing it with GTA 5 and again shut down quickly, at least, they try. As the modding he does is allowed, they can't force him legally to shut his mod down, so they try to fuck him in other methods like what happened now.

Hoping they get the stick for that, there's this big feeling they really want to force their own Online part on everyone. Not all from R* might agree with their stance on "Modding" but it seems one or more in charge are really trying to cut down the Community here and it's not even the first attempt.

@sausje: thx for the heads up about that situation. but never the less: rockstar has forbidden modification of the online part, thats what he was doing. even when he wasnt using official rockstar servers. sad as it is they win. he if pulls of pirate server stuff he will get surprise buttsex very fast from cockstars law guys

Nope, he didn't mod anything about the online part, all was done in SP. He done that on purpose that way, that it wouldn't violate any terms or give them reason to sue. That's why they did the lame banning thing and not sue the actual team
The private server is actually already up and running, just for 64 players atm, but still. So if R* would have ANY legal ground to stand on, they would had sued. Now they just cockblock them with bans and justify it by saying they cheated or hacked and there wouldn't be anything they could do about it.
That way they push/force the team to do it on the illegal version and thus giving R* legal ground to stand on to remove the whole mod.
