Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six: Siege is in development at Ubisoft Montreal, coming in 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
It's all being built within Ubisoft's proprietary engines Anvil Next and RealBlast handling the action and procedural destruction.
“We rebooted the game, and we are explaining why we did that,” said Alexandre Remy, brand director at Ubisoft. “This is 100 percent new and different. Patriots is not in development anymore. But hopefully this will get you more excited. We believe it was a good decision.”
“For Rainbow Six, we wanted to make something on next-generation consoles,” Remy said. “We decided to reboot the whole franchise.”
The footage shown during the E3 2014 press conference demonstrated an early multiplayer match with one team attempting to rescue a hostage from the opposing forces. Environmental destruction plays a key role in how matches unfold, and it's possible to blast through walls and doors get to your objectives.
- The game is about “siege combat.”
- a single-player/co-op story where the breach operations get progressively more difficult.
- multiplayer combat where one side plays the terrorists, who build up their defenses, and the other side plays the counter-terrorist team.
Multiplayer:
The preparation seamlessly melts into the beginning of combat as the combatants discover each other, said Alexandre Remy, brand director at Ubisoft. The multiplayer combat consists of five terrorists versus five counter-terrorist soldiers. Either side can win when all enemy players are eliminated. The counter-terrorists, however, can score extra points by saving hostages.
Once the shooting starts, a match is over in about three minutes. Once one of the characters is killed, there is no respawning. You’re dead for the whole round. Once you die, you don’t have to sit out the match entirely. For instance, if you launch drones into the sky, you can essentially become a drone once you’ve been shot. You can see what’s happening in the battle and report back to the rest of the team what is happening. A multiplayer round lasts a total of 18 minutes, with each side fighting three rounds of defense and three rounds of attack.
Defenders can set up barricades, reinforce the walls, place traps, and set up bombs. The attackers can analyze the defenses and figure out ways to get around them.
America. Walls are made of cardboard.

Meanwhile the people of that generation will call those guys relics, and not move with the times when everything is auto fucking.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Spectator cam and GSG-9
(With really weird names that are probably supposed to be edgy or cool in some way.)
Quote:
With Spectator Cam, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege offers the possibility for an 11th player to participate in 5 vs. 5 multiplayer games as an observer and watch the match in real time. In addition to the traditional first-person view, Spectator Cam introduces Tactical View, an interactive viewpoint that allows players to automatically follow individual players over the map and observe all players, teams and objectives. Spectator Cam will offer players a real-time overview of team strategies and player tactics that will make watching multiplayer matches both entertaining and informative.
A beta form of Spectator Cam will be available for LAN and custom online games for PC at launch on October 13 and for Xbox One / PS4 in early 2016.

GSG 9 Operators: The surgically lethal German GSG 9 counter-terrorism unit contains four unique operators:
Bandit – Highly resourceful and adaptive, Bandit carries a crude electrical device consisting of a car battery wired to an electroshock weapon that electrifies barbwire and metallic surfaces.
Blitz – With his imposing physique, Blitz is an expert on the front lines who uses a ballistic shield that provides mobile cover with a row of eight flashbang grenades that fire to disorient targets when entering or breaching hostile environments.
IQ – IQ is a brilliant electrical engineer. She has a wrist-mounted sensor that detects electronic devices by sweeping the electromagnetic spectrum, providing visual and audio feedback.
Jäger – A technician with an affinity for complex machinery, Jäger is armed with a mountable ADS-MK IV “Magpie” that can deploy a projectile to neutralize incoming projectiles.
Kanal Map: Located in an industrial area of Hamburg, Germany, Kanal contains several buildings, bridges and waterways with elevated vantage points and unique sight lines.
Live Demo: On Saturday, August 8, from 4–8 pm CET, four teams composed of some of the best Rainbow Six players from around the world will face off on PCs in 5 vs. 5 matches at the ESL booth, showcasing some of the most exciting competitive features the game has to offer and the first live demo of Spectator Cam. The show will be live streamed at twitch.tv/Ubisoft.
("Jäger is armed with a mountable ADS-MK IV “Magpie” that can deploy a projectile to neutralize incoming projectiles." - So I can deplay a sentry gun that shoots bullets, at bullets?)

With that in mind, we’ve decided to push the release date of Rainbow Six Siege to December 1, 2015 for all regions. This wasn’t an easy decision, but based on the feedback we’ve received, and based on our own internal tests, we felt there are adjustments and improvements we can make, including improving the co-op experience across all game modes, weapon and gadget balancing, as well as menu and interface navigation. We’re taking a little more time to make these changes, and we think it’s the right call.
The closed beta for Rainbow Six Siege will still start on September 24, 2015 as planned, and the additional time will allow us to further test things like infrastructure and matchmaking. That extra testing and added polish will make for a higher-quality experience at launch.
