"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

For more than four months, personal computers used by the workers of the production department have been cut off from the Internet. The talented engineers have been cut off from the outside world and left in the lurch. Hideo Kojima, 51, who heads the department, has refrained from airing his personal views online.

The release of the newest version of the game, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," however, has been delayed numerous times and racked up more than 10 billion yen ($80.4 million) in development costs. Prior to its September release, Kojima has been "incarcerated" in his office.

Konami employees, for example, are not issued personalized email addresses. Workers who have to deal with the outside world such as those in the marketing division are given addresses that randomly combine letters and five numerals. Such addresses are replaced every few months. Workers can go outside for lunch for an allotted time. How much time they spend outside is measured. Those who stay out for longer than they should are named and shamed. Surveillance cameras in offices and hallways are used to monitor employees as they work.

In spring last year, Konami was shaken by what is known in its corridors as the "Facebook incident." A former Konami worker wrote on the social media site that he had received a job offer at another company. Several Konami workers liked the post. The thumbs up got them transferred to new assignments. Those transferred are said to have included capable managers who were trusted by their subordinates. Konami's tacit message is that anyone who leaves is a traitor

Wtf is this shit? A concentration labor camp? Shocked

PS I remember I watched a French film about a girl who got a job in Japan. What she had to go through was quite.,..challenging lol.

I'm not really hyped either, but i'm excited to play this.
Mainly because of the different (crazy) things you can do in the open world.
And the story probably is interesting too. At least it was in the previous MGS games.

i wouldnt say mgs games are exceptionally well written, but they definitely have the weirdest story in gaming with so many batshit insane twists and quirky 4th wall breaking.
the franchise also features some of the most unique boss battles and creative ideas in gaming.

Haha yeah Very Happy, I've only had the chance to play 1,2 and 3 (with the emulator), but even if the story itself sometimes just moves following parallel dimensions of complete nonrationality with a lot of lolwuts involved, the narration style and way to present the various characters/interactions is unrivaled.
There is a great amount of brilliance ready to surprise the player and that's always a great plus, no matter how you see it.
