Did anyone try the 'Borderless' and 'Ultra' setting to bypass the chapter 8 bug?

Seems to be bug with fullscreen and possibly crack , ep8 works fine with borderless, you dont need Ultra setting - borderless/windowed is enough

Is there no way to choose later an other difficulty?

You can change the difficulty of an episode when restarting it but doing so defeats the whole purpose of using someone elses after the glitch save.

Boy I sure love when a main bad guy's demise doesn't involve any input from the player.

Looks like they were counting on a sequel. Good luck with that, Visceral. Reaction

How can the crack be the issue? AI spot me through buildings and anything else I try to hide behind.

Can't get past this episode at all.

its almost certainly a crack issue, remaining trigger of the copy protection
but you can still finish the level, the cops are slow as fuck if they block a path just run around them in a circle

the chapter 8 bug can be bypassed by entering gametime.maxvariablefps 3 in the console, right at the end of the cutscene where you meet the girl's father. its gonna lag, wait until you regain control in the cell and change it back to gametime.maxvariablefps 200

finished 100% all unlocked didnt encounter any other triggers (at least none I noticed)
solid game but the release should be nuked and there needs to be a crackfix

Thanks for the hint but what's the purpose of trying to sneak if you pretty much just run through the level?

There is no purpose, running and evading is the only option to progress in the cracked version.
No known workaround or proper crack atm.

Well thanks for the info...

Can't complain (too loud) when it's free.

Going to shelf the game for now until a fix comes along, seems my guy is too slow to try to outrun the searchlights. Rolling Eyes

I found a copy of the CPY update v2 and it does not fix this problem with ep. 5.

For the sake of completeness and as the masochistic cinematic tradition of the consolish carousels dictates, had to go and face this monstre as well.
The TV-like presentation with episodes, previously on's (in case the poor player has a memory of a goldfish) and story (albeit clichè-ish) were not as terrible as I imagined. I wouldn't say refreshing but at least having some hollycop business wasn't as stale as the usual military patriotism. It still managed to become very stale, but well what can you expect. Razz Laughing

The Frosty engine (+Reshade) did its job fine all things considered,

 Spoiler:

..too bad the developers decided that having FOV values higher than gluedtothescreen was against the Couch directive #30 and went full console with it, in case the game wasn't already providing that. Some things just can't be explained

The fact that the AI has no idea whatsoever of what's going on regardless of the difficulty setting thanks to their conevision(tm) (which obviously only detects the protagonist, since my partner can walk past them without problems) doesn't help either.
Press F to pay respects steps up and becomes Press G + F: checkmate SWAT, the cop game of this generation is here!

Even in those few moments when the game doesn't treat you like a spoon, and there's a shy attempt to give some freedom and emulate far cry's formula, only in a more streamlined way (I thought it wouldn't be possible, I was wrong) everything appears guided, wallhacky, just fake. A real shame that such a potentially interesting concept was viscerally butchered so much, with a final result that yes is still better than the embarrassing BF3/4's campaigns, but when your biggest competitor is CoJ: The Cartel something isn't quite right. Very Happy Laughing

During one of the earlier missions, my partner(the female cop) walked casually between two enemies who were guarding an alley and they ignored her completely. Laughing

How can you be immersed in a game when shit like this pulls you right out.

Well, "next-gen" derpsolers didn't have much of a choice when the game was released, I think.

D€$tiny, CoD and BF4... can't remember if there was another MP focused FPS at the time.
And PC gamers still remember those BF4 hijinx better than anyone else, IMO Very Happy
