Any word if the Devs are going to put in Steam Workshop or is the game already being modded?

already modable http://pamatches.com/mod/
https://forums.uberent.com/forums/mod-discussions.72/

From my point of view , there are couple problems with the game and people understanding it:
    1) Unrealstic expectations of some pople for no reason
Some poeple for some unknown reason expected it to be SupCom killer or whatever , but with 1/10 of its biudget its realiticly not possible and they even went a bit ifferent direction (closer to TA than SupCom and new ieas like spherical map). Yeah some pople of the team worked on TA/SupCom , but that doesnt mean they are able to develop "SupCom-killer" (which PA wasnt mean to be to begin with) wit fraction of money.

    2) Completely new strategy layer with huge lack of tutorial
The spherical maps are really something new and completley different to play than classic flat maps, we have since beginning of the genre. Its no a bad thing , but with no real tutorial its hard to change peple thinnking and convnce people that its not bad. It just requires little bit different thinking than playing on flat map we know and love and that might cause problems with some people trying to play it same way they do flat maps. The coplete lack of playable Tutorial is second thing, because game uses quite a lot hotkeys and special comamnds to ease the playing. But without tutorial to indroduce them some poeple thing there is too much clicking here.

    3) Rushed official launch (mising features , GA in alpha/beta state, bad unit variety)
And onviously the rushed launch part. There was/is quite a lot of core features missing from the game - especially offline and saves, but i am pretty sure they are working on it. Other problems coming from rushed launch are IMO lack of wider unit variety, game isnt polished enough and Galactic War mode being in beta state (but i can udnerstand that as it was stretchgoal after all) - iirc GW overhaul aswell as wider unit selection is promised

So to sum up my thoughts on the game after couple of skrimisehs/ couple matches in GW:
Game in its current state is very rough around edges , but not really that bad as some people making it to be. I guess that comes from expecting "SupCom killer" or whatever.
As gameplay goes it works pretty fine , but to be able to properly play you need to get used to controls and using special hotkeys like build fronts, using picture-in-picture,.. and need to change you thinking regarding batte tactics thx to spherical maps and en multiple ones (palying it the same way you play normal strategies is not much enjoyable nd can fail miserably).
Its really rough around the edges at the moment especially Galactic War mode, but the basic is pretty playable, but needs a lot of improvement. So would i uld ive it 6.8/10 , with a recomendation to wait couple of moths for the "Total War-like patchmachine" or some great mods which can easly push the game to 8-9/10 for me(if they add saving and overhaul GW)

personally i would play any day ta instead of supcom. but is hard to find people to play with.

when is started the only reason i dint backit/buy it later is was the amount of retarded people on their forum which bashed supcom. which with all his flaws (most of them fixed in faf) is among the best rts ever made. you dont like to play with experimental units ? fucking disable them, not cry about it.
they officially stated pa is the spiritual successor of ta, but is so far behind that is not even funny.

i may be remember wrong, but for me the path finding of units, what can you do with them, pure balance between units (movement/armor/firepower/role), pace of game, elevetion of terain, movement/firing on z axis are no way near ta.
ta per total is a fluid game and you can change your strategy pretty much on the fly, pa seems like a ... sloopy game.
anyway, will play a bit more next month probably, for now i will not touch this anymore.

They track usage on their site:

26 players in game atm and many more in chat, so there should be always someone available to play.

Just tried the Galactic War of this, hoping that it would still be fun to play, as there is no campaign.
What the fucking fuck did the devs thought with that?! Played for like one hour and it was fun to kill invading enemies once in a while.

Then i attacked one of his planets, and there are orbital attack units flying everywhere. AND I CAN'T BUILD ANYTHING TO ATTACK THEM, WTF?!

A bit later he launched a fucking nuclear missile, to which i don't have access either, and killed most of my base.

Keep in mind, this was the very first battle i encountered

no chance fro that
- GPG is dead and scattered in Wargaming.net as Wargaming Seattle- working on some F2P crap possibly similar to SC
- PA team is considered untrustworthy after messed up release of PA , dont have budget for proper SC3-like game and they go more the TA way and not SC way
- I guess closest thing we can actually get is Ashes of Singularity from Stardock/Oxide

Seems like it got some nice patches recently
Quote:
Single Player Galactic War improvements and redesigns are live!
June 10 - jables
We've been taking notes on the feedback we've been receiving on the forums both here and on the official Uber forums and have done a massive redesign to the Galactic War!

A few of the included in the changes:
    - Tech Discovery Redesign
--You will now be able to choose one tech from a group of three when you explore a system.
--You will no longer be given techs that you already have as one of the three choices.
--You will now only be given techs that you can use--IE no bot buffs without the ability to build bots.
    - Rebalanced chances to discover various techs
    - Improved AI difficulty ramping
    - Improved system difficulty ramping
    - New and improved redesigned boss fights for all factions
    - Galactic War now defaults to a system size of Medium instead of Epic
    - You now have the option to toggle "Hardcore mode" on and off when starting a new war
--Losing a match in Hardcore Mode will end the active Galactic War, as it did in previous Galactic War iterations.
--Losing a match outside of Hardcore Mode will allow you to load a save from before moving into the hostile system.
    - Galactic War now has two neutral stars that always spawn next to the starting point

We've also done a huge pass on pathfinding to fix the majority of reported cases of units getting stuck on buildings, as well as AI improvements and a bunch of bug fixes and polish items.

Asteroids! Now spawning in a system near you!
August 1- meshelleee
We've been working on these for quite a while and are happy to announce that Asteroids are now available to add to your systems in PA! They have been added in a few of the existing systems (including ranked), so keep your eyes open for the telltale Asteroid belts and enjoy a new way to annihilate planets!
-Players are now able to place Asteroid belts in their systems
-The asteroid belt spawns in small asteroids at a predetermined timing that can be set by the system designer
-An alert plays when an asteroid appears in the system
-New planet crash effect! Planets now explode when they collide with one another
-This means that the player no longer targets a spot on the target planet
-This also means that all commanders on the planet are the first to die and die at the same time
-Planets in motion go directly to the target after first going around the sun once
-Asteroids have been added to the Roc, Styx, and Medea systems. The Roc system has also been added to the list of Ranked systems

This update also includes a ton of bugfixes, polish items, and AI tweaks for you to play against, as well as new feedback added to make placing buildings much easier!

Take a look at the full notes below, and we hope you all enjoy the new additions to the game!

Quote:
It's undeniable that Planetary Annihilation: Titans (and the updates Uber have done for the base game since it came out) have made Planetary Annihilation a much better RTS. I've enjoyed playing Titans a lot more than I ever enjoyed the original game.

But Planetary Annihilation still struggles to justify itself as an improvement or continuation of the games that inspired it. At heart, Titans is an expansion designed to make Planetary Annihilation more like Supreme Commander. When I listened to our interview again, I noticed that Ables kept calling the Titans "experimentals," the name that Supreme Commander gave its super-units. It's a natural mistake: Titans spends so much time re-creating parts of Supreme Commander that it invites these comparisons. But at the end of a long weekend with Planetary Annihilation: Titans, I'm not sure whether next weekend will find me playing Titans, or reinstalling Supreme Commander.

thought owner of the original PA would get this for free or cheaper but 36,99€, fuck that

edit:
"You can't accuse it of being a "paid patch," either. Titans is absolutely free to everyone who backed the original Kickstarter, and people who already own Planetary Annihilation will be able to buy Titans at a substantial discount."

nvm. Just wondering how much it is for owners of PA

KS backers for free, PA owners for 12,58€ . Original PA will be removed from sale on steam

Quote:
All bug fixes and engine/perf improvements will be included in PA as well. Today there was a patch that included quite a few.

Any new content that is specific to TITANS and goes beyond the initial idea of PA will be TITANS only.

BTW: FULL changelog: http://exodusesports.com/article/planetary-annihilation-titans/
Quite massive changes and news - will try codex version to see how much is it improved (although last time i played was pretty much right after they opened offline mode)
