Probably same fans that prefer the walk around a don't do anything awesome combat system the new FF games sport.

So... uh... how do you actually get the launcher to load? I've got En(US) language installed, my locale is UK so out decimal character is already . and not , or ' .... yet nothing happens when I try to run the launcher. Game runs from base EXE but not the launcher? What the actual fuck?

1080p max res, 30 fps cap, and G-sync issues with cutscenes.

Yeah fuck this. I'm going to mess around with Zombi and wait until Metal Gear comes out.

According to NeoGaf the developers had a blog post (In Japanese) on what some of the AA settings did, off is self-explanatory but normal is a form of temporal AA, high is that plus 1.5x SSAA and very high is temporal + 2x SSAA, supersampling scales from the resolution chosen so at 720P it would render in 2K at 2x SSAA and at 1080P it would render in 4K
(Temporal AA also scales with the SSAA but it's still rather blurry from what I've seen in screenshots.)

Should explain why people with older hardware are having performance issues with AA at it's highest setting.

EDIT: More screenshots.
 Spoiler:

(Yeah temporal AA adds a bit of blur alright, SSAA is nice though.)

wasn't that one of the things they changed for XIII?

So far it seems completely separated but there's "l'cie" and other references to the FF13 setting/universe so there might be some connection.

On the product page on Steam it might list Square Enix as the developers but from what I've read this was actually ported by Hexa Drive

Played this yesterday for 1-2 hours. Wow. My excitement for this one left pretty fast.

Most of the environments and character faces look like from a PS2 game. While the characters clothes and textures look like from a PS3 game.

And the goddamn camera. Thanks to those abysmal low FOV. And in tight areas i am forced to use the lock-on-target to see and hit enemies. Because the camera just clips out of the world and i don't see anything. Seriously, wtf is this this?

Finally got the launcher working, now let's see just how terrible this really is Laughing I'm still hoping it's a good game, despite all the technical crap, but yeah.. guess we'll see.

~edit~

It won't go full screen Facepalm Doesn't matter if I set full or windowed, 720p or 1080p, it's constantly just full-size 1080p window Facepalm

~edit~

3DM crack is broken it looks like. I used their latest .EXE files from the update to fix the launcher (I also had to completely remove all vcredist and reinstall the lot) but CODEX Steam emu and now it saves and works just fine.

How do I run it in window mode? Can't seem to find it in the launcher. Or I'm just a dumbass.

Also I love how it touts about "UPGRADED GRAPHICS RESOLUTION FOR HIGH END PCS" on the store page.

https://imgur.com/a/42kcS

But it's all good, I got my Doto items.

Well except for the port, because it's shit. They released this shit on PS4 as well? Because wow.

I'm fine with the 30fps cap, as long as you know, the visuals are actually worth it or something. But textures are shit. Models are shit. This is great.

The launcher is located in the base directory, the game exe is inside WIN folder inside the base directory. You want to run fftype0hdlauncher.exe to set your options.

Gotta say it's not the best port ever, but not the worst either. at least with a controller, im playing it fine. I was expecting some Saints Row 2 or FFXIII, but it's not that bad.
It's not great, but it's playable. And the game is really fun, in a GW2 "dodge dodge dodge" way Laughing

You have to run the launcher and change the control display from QWERTY/AZERTY to CONTROLLER.

The game starts only in windowed mode through WIN folder, but the launcher doesn't work at all. It shows up under task manager for a few seconds and then simply disappears - CODEX version. Ready to uninstall, but saw that @sabin1981 got it working using another crack instead or how exactly?

3DM put out Update1 earlier today, which brought the launcher fix, get that (it's on RIN) and just use the contents of the UPDATE folder, do NOT overwrite the CODEX crack you already have. If you just use these three files;

fftype0hdlauncher.exe
fftype0hd.exe
msgdlg.dll

Along with the CODEX emu/crack, you'll have full working launcher *and* working saves (both game saves and config saves seem to be broken in 3DMs crack)

!

Right now I'm working on CE to try and find the "time/hours remaining" location so we can freeze it. I hate arbitrary limits and I hate them even more when they mean you miss half the game and have to play through twice in order to see all the events Facepalm

Heh was toying with that myself but didn't really get anywhere, someone on the Cheat-Engine forum mentioned something about needing to play through the game some ten+ times or so if you really wanted to unlock everything (legitimately that is.), probably more for unlocking the rarer weapons and eidolons though and maybe some of the outfits that require a bit more work I guess, haven't really gotten that far myself yet but I had six hours free initially and have found three quest givers so I think I can manage unless I find a fourth in some unexplored area of the academy, of course that's just for the start of the game and I'm not that dumb so I'm all but certain later parts will require you to skip side activities due to the time limit.
(Doing these side things spends two hours of your free time.)

As far as I know you only have to play through twice in order to see the optional, but important, scenes... playing through half a dozen times to get EVERY items and EVERY piece of equipment due to the limitation on how often you can do "events" (those "!" people around Akademia that take up 2 hours, as you rightly said)

Ah I see, and speaking about that a bit more yeah I know it's a gameplay thing but I still found it a bit funny that one of the activities I did was a barely 30 second conversation with that researcher that is referred to as "mom" and even so two hours were subtracted immediately when that dialogue concluded. Very Happy
(I guess a gradual decrease of time as you played might have been better but it could have promoted trying to speedrun things a bit too much.)

Will probably try to play through the game at least once without freezing the timer but eh I don't think I will have the patience to do a 100% completion like that.

I didn't know about them having exclusive items and such though I did notice that the third available difficulty level said +30 to levels which I assume means that the opponents you face have a +30 level "buff" though I find myself struggling even on easy (dodge is pretty damn important early on.) so that's probably not something you'd attempt for a initial playthrough, anyways yeah I saw that there was a additional unlockable difficulty for beating the game but I had no idea there were two and that they had exclusive rewards, interesting.
(And probably downright brutal difficulty wise although I guess it's refreshing too with games becoming more casual these days, just read that the iOS port of Final Fantasy 7 has a new setting that automatically maxes the characters stats and you can even turn off random encounters, and here I thought the buffs/cheats in the PC update were pushing it. - http://www.actiontrip.com/news/final-fantasy-vii-out-on-ios-includes-autobadass-mode/081915_6 )

There's a *fourth* difficulty too, which is unlocked when you finish the third one, this adds +50 level buff to the enemies and.. if I'm not mistaken.. you play through solo. No team members grinhurt And yes, the game is brutally difficult and requires constant abuse of dodge Sad

Well at least there seems to be enough content in the game to keep playing until Final Fantasy 13: Lighting Returns comes out on PC. Very Happy (Summer when exactly?)

...Wonder what happened with that though I hope it's still planned for release this year, maybe a lot of the workforce shifted over to the resurrection of the MMO of FF14 or started working on finishing up Final Fantasy 15 for XBO and PS4 (And PC in 20XX sometime.) but that's probably handled by separate teams entirely. (And as time passes there's less of a chance of it being a rushed port with technical issues, well a smaller chance at least.)

This difficulty you mentioned or the game in general?
