The audio director of the game has complained about how hard it was to do sound for the game because Avalanche is focusing on making you feel alone in the hostile wasteland so ambient sound was more important to them.
I'm really looking forward to it too. Despite it doesn't seem to have any special features, it still looks like good fun.
I just hope the story will be somewhat good.
Was just gonna ask if you can use other vehicles too, but at 37:50 you can see the garage to modifiy your vehicles. Nice.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
This fall, fans of Mad Max: Fury Road will be able to return to the movie's post-apocalyptic world of water wars and War Boys in a videogame spinoff that will introduce Scabrous Scrotus, the third son of the movie's Immortan Joe.

They said a long time ago that this has nothing to do with the old movies or the new one, but having watched Fury Road very recently it's very clear that they took a lot from that. I don't mind it though.
I'll try this one out as well when it comes out, hoping the game won't be as demanding because of the setting. I'm probably wrong and it'll run like shit for me. Still excited for this one.

It will probably run like shit anyway, it's WB. Regardless of Avalanche.

You're missing the fact Avalanche has their own guys to do a "port" or the optimization. Which I'll gladly take over anything else WB does. Feel free to prove me wrong once it drops and runs shitty, but I'm more positive with caring devs than with the AK debacle.

Yes, The game was "retooled" in 2013 and that probably gave them the time to incorporate stuff from the movie .
GamesBeat: Is this the first time they’ve let you out?
Wyse: We were at E3 two years ago. Then we took a step back, retooled, and put a lot more effort into it. We switched to the next generation. This is our coming-out party.
...
GamesBeat: How much of the new movie did you have in front of you to that you could see what they were doing?
Wyse: We saw a lot of the universe established. What you see in the film was in George Miller’s mind and on paper and in concepts. He’d even had some of the cars built out already. We were able to absorb the universe that Miller had already created.
Fury Road began filming in July 2012 so said concepts must have been designed earlier than that.

In the video from Lolygon the guy said he was 30 hrs in and was more than half done with the story and considers his status "nearly end game" and didn't even do most of the sidestuff.
It's a gigantic open world, there's always loads to explore and do, just like Just Cause 2 as well. Most of it will just be Far Cry/Just Cause style fluff that most of us will get bored of within a couple of hours

When I tried JC2 at the time it felt like I'm using 'god mode' cheats by default and it definitely felt bit boring after a while. The only hard part were the fustrating contrls.

Will it be possible to turn off all the derp icons and perhaps the minimap? Otherwise I'm not touching this.
I know how you feel, that's grinding my gears as well. And the instant slow-mo's, wallhacking, invasive multidimensional visions in case the next generation people don't see the obvious.
Fingers crossed for a positive outcome (and for a game that doesn't play itself like Mordor), but I'm also already prepared to be disappointed just in case. Feels safer that way.

Exactly, mate. This feels like just another reskin of AssCreed, a lá Mordor or Watch Dogs. It's pathetic that derp has become a trend. I don't want a fuckin' video game to treat me like I'm retarded.
