Are they toning it down compared to The Walking Dead or it is just because its a pilot?
I thought it was slow and the characters may take some getting used to but its very early days yet.

It almost seems like this series is going for a more realistic approach to damaging zombies. Knives and blunt objects no longer go through their skull as if it was a rotten lemon.

oooooookay i might be almost done with the show... characters were even more stupid in the second episode than the first... and what happened with all that food at the school? After eliminating the only threat, they just abandon it? ugh.. yeah... the entire episode was pretty dumb...
and sadly, it seems the 'crisis' is escalating too fast for my liking... at this rate we'll hit full post apocalyptic mode after 4 or 5 episodes...

What a shit epi, wth is even the point of this.
So a show about the beginning that doesn't show anything, confines people in small spaces, goes to a dessert and has dumb shit going on all the time... how is this different from the walking dead other than: even more drama and worse acting?

Man some scenes I was like "wtf dude just fuckin tell em what's going on already, GOD!" Soo many cringe worthy fails at rationale and good common sense in this show so far  . Hope it improves soon b/c the stupid in this show is frying ma "BRAINS!"

Second episode was ok and TV-14 again! Things are escalating but I still think its too tame. It lacks the violence and gore of The Walking Dead.

Hmm I see but you cant have zombies without violence and gore. I think they were just probably trying to appeal to a wider audience by keeping it suitable for anyone as young as 14 years old.

ugh if you want violence and gore, why not stick to the other walking dead show? you dont need two shows that are exactly the same... waldo is actually right ( ), this one should be about the growing nagging fear that something horrifying is happening. it shouldn't be about all out bloody chaos, like where the show seems to already be going (after only 2 fucking episodes, jeez... use some fucking restraint and tell an interesting story, you bastards!)
i can only hope that the show becomes about moving from town to town, and experiencing each ones downfall as the main characters attempt to outrun/stay ahead of the plague or something, because any hope i had of this being a really cool kinda mystery/thriller/horror show have well and truely been blown out of the fucking water...
why couldn't this have been like the first 4 or 5 episodes of the strain, except without the idiotic characters?
