Bluesnews claims it to be new, just on appearing on the XCom website. The footage from a week ago was the interview and non-interview stuff from Gamerscom. This has a little more footage (it's also longer than what DCB posted.) For one there's added stuff on the end.

Could be, I only checked the beginning of the clip and it's mostly the same footage I saw weeks ago.

The only new bit would appear to be the 10 seconds of cutscene at the end.

There's been no mention of air combat yet in the promo material (that I'm aware of) but I am looking forward to some kind of air game.
The air game in EU/EW got some pretty well deserved hate for lack of depth and consequence but I'd hate to see it disappear altogether. It is a dynamic way to generate missions, could add complexity to the tech path and makes for interesting strategy whether to try controlling territory or spend resources elsewhere.
The idea of an XCOM air force that projects power during the geoscape play is a sound concept that I hope isn't completely abandoned in the sequel!
EDIT Want to add my brainstorm/wishlist for fun:
Lift the mechanics from UFO. Launching multiple aircraft and simultaneous intercepts, fuel consumption, meaningful weapon ranges & air speed.
The new Avenger is a carrier so aircraft & pilots need to be assigned to a Combat Air Patrol. The Avenger itself can support air combat within range of it's missile launchers or other weapon systems.
Defensive as well as offensive air missions.
A good pilot XP system a la Long War
An aircraft equipment/hardpoint system. A flight of three aircraft, two equipped w/ 2x weapons and a third with targeting & ECM gear.

This. No air combat at some point, seems shallow.. Sad But hey ill play it. Very Happy

XCOM 2 delayed to February.

Quote:
PC strategy game XCOM 2 has been delayed from November to February 5 of next year, according to dev studio Firaxis and their publisher Take Two.

Quote:
We've set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown. We just need a little more time to make it the best possible game.

With XCOM 2, we want to have more depth, more replayability, and more investment in your soldiers and this extension will give us the time we need to deliver on our promise to you.
We appreciate your patience and continued support as we move towards February. Good luck, Commander!

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I had to wonder if this was on the cards, the way they were talking at both E3 and Gamescom about a bunch of things not being decided/locked down yet that you'd expect would be already finalised only 2 months out from release.

I don't care too much about the delay. As long as it isn't as empty as the original game when it came out. Same maps, no depth, not much going on.

It got a little more fleshed out with Enemy Within, but still ...

2K and Firaxis Games announced today that XCOM 2 has been delayed to February 2016. XCOM 2 is a PC exclusive game that was initially planned for a November 2015 release. As Firaxis stated, it needs a little more time to polish the game, therefore its release date has been now set to February 5th, 2016.

As Firaxis claimed:
“We want to give you an update on the release date for XCOM 2. We’ve set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown. We just need a little more time to make it the best possible game.”

I bought this for £20 (key). I played the first one quite a bit so I feel confident enough that this will be worth it (hopefully).

Do you get the key right away or are they sending it later?

best to buy early guys if you really want to buy the game at least. The prices ALWAYS bump up to near retail or at least another 10 euro nearer launch dates. I've found that to be the case with practically all games. Although there's still plenty of time left with a February release date. I got from a cd key seller, although I've never used them before or heard of them for that matter.I took a chance with this one as usually I pay that little bit extra to get from a reputable seller. 25 from nuuvem is very good.

get the keys from plati.ru. Managed to find a seller that dealt with PP payment and got it as a steam gift instantly. Seller's name is Hi2All. Bought DeusEx:MD and Xcom2 keys from him. Waiting for the games to release is the hardest part now Dude Weep

It depends on the publisher, I got my Fallout 4 key when preload started but normally you get the key on release date.
