Yeah. One of most of the underrated RTS out there. And definitely my favorite because of the way it makes me feel.

World in Conflict. The french lieutenant story, Bannon's story (this one was damn well presented - he was a bit of an arse, but you will understand his reasons and in the end you can't help but to feel for the poor sob)

When i finished the game i felt so depressed and empty. No feeling of victory, nothing glorious. And those two soldiers listening to a CD player nailed it.

If you never played the game, i fully recommend it. Probably one of the best stories in an RTS game (if not THE BEST)

Well that settles it. I'd been planning a replay for *ages*, but never really got around to it. Time to do it Very Happy Seriously one of the very best story/mission-based RTS I've ever played, it's up there with RA2/YR, that's for damned sure.

It's better in terms of story. It's serious, gritty and quite emotional. Any game that makes you care about the characters involved in the story it's usually a damn good one.

And the use of the right song/medley in the right scene/mission makes it close to a masterpiece. And WiC it's using its OST spot on. Shame that Massive was aquired by Activision and ended up being sold to Ubi (with WiC IP, too, an IP that just sits there).

Speaking of World in Conflict;

Quote:
Dear World in Conflict fans,

Sadly, all great things must come to an end and this is true even for World in Conflict. It is with sadness that we now inform you that all online services for World in Conflict will be shut-down as of October 6th 2015. It was a very difficult decision to make but for several reasons it is not possible to keep the servers online anymore. This includes Massgate, the game severs and the forums, which means it will only be possible to play campaign and LAN games after that.

Your enjoyment of our games have always been what matters most to us. We are forever grateful for the dedication and love you have shown over the eight years since release. While this marks the end of this World in Conflict saga you should know we are working hard on other titles we hope you will come to enjoy just as much. We also want you to know that World in Conflict has a very special place in our heart and while there currently are no plans for a sequel, you never know what the future might hold!

If you have any questions regarding the shut-down, please reach out to the Customer Support team at support.ubi.com.

In closing – we at Massive thank you for your support and the love you have shown. Don’t be surprised if you see some of us joining you on the battlefield during these last weeks of World in Conflict!

I still play Gothic 2 almost once a year. In fact I'm playing it right now with the DX11 mod and the textures from l'hiver mod.

It affects my intelligence in some way I suppose. Its like living in a loop and doing the same things over and over and over again. I just dont feel complete without a Gothic 2 playthrough.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I'll do it tonight or tomorrow. What armour do you want me to put on and where?

I am currently in chapter two finishing the Addon Quest. I havent visited the Oldworld yet. I have the leather armour, the first Militia armour, the lower bandit armour, the "ringof water" armour and the Pirate armour.
