I just started playing MGS3. Question for those who have played that and MGSV (end game spoilers):

In MGS3 Sokolov tells Snake "your Russian is superb." So in MGSV why does the fake Big Boss need a translator if he has all of the real Big Boss' memories?

So I took a closer look at the full riot gear guys. Click to embiggen.
Seems like the model for the African troops version is fully armoured, while the Afghanistan one shows a lot of (seemingly) unprotected leg. I think that is only cosmetic though, and that they both are functionally the same - i.e. immune to tranq rounds. It seems that Quiet can eventually knock their helmets off with her tranq rifle after about half a dozen hits. I assume a lethal sniper rifle would knock it off in one or two (or go right through it for an anti-mat rifle).
Some people don't need to change their timezone.
Reason might be the use of Win7 or they are already in some "supported" timezone.
Too bad i still can't get any savegames to work and have to wait till v3 comes out and hopefully will fix that problem for me.
Delete 3DGAME folder from the root folder. Open up the original release with the v1 crack. Copy that 3dgame over, set time zone, and you should be good to go (assuming you didn't do this yet, i didn't read back)

One of the sniper rifles has a magnum ammo upgrade which can go through their helmet. And it can have a suppressor making it more useful than the anti material rifle.

it's explained in one of the first tapes that because of the debris stuck in his brain his linguistic skills have diminished a lot.
It's as if the save data gets overriden as soon as i start up the game. The config stays saved though.
Just redownload the shit Bobovic. Just leech a fresh Steam release with no crack (one of the first releases) and copy the shit folder to wherever you like. Then copy the 1.005 update to that folder then copy the whole crack shit (V2 only! Really forget that V1 shit that only fucks it up. Why do that? V2 works fine alone!) to that folder then set the time zone and dont let your firewall/virus scanner fuck it all up. These shit programs destroyed my dlls more than a thousand fucking times.
And then start the game. Either it starts at the hospital shit or in episode 1. If episode 1 then delete the root folder shit and start the game again. Hospital shit will commence.
Of course just to be safe you should start the exe via administrator or even better deactivate all the user account control (UAV) as much as possible and start it all as a godadmin a goddamn warrior a willing fuckerbear and you should be good to go.
There is not much more to fucking do. If it doesnt work if the saves get blocked or whatthefuckever then you gotta try some Windows forum and look for certain answers regarding UAC and admin shit and read/write blocking. Be a man Bobovic it will all be good.
But let me tell you sth. before you start the shit. The hospital prologue is some serious The Evil Within shit with beautiful, only a man could dream about that shit stuff, horrific dogshit nothing else. Brutal dogshit only MGS lovers can accept that.

But the Afghanistan brothel shit is certainly better ALSO the animations are pure shit and the graphics at daylight...well...mhhh....more or less Xbox 360 shit. At night and with rain its good looking though. But only above 1440p or the aliasing will kill your dick....

I never played any MSG games in first place. This is game is lukewarm the best.
I think I enjoyed TW3 a lot more.
I still can't believe the game gets away with "This is X video game", after every single mission. I mean, I get it. Hideo Kojima made the game, but was he really all that great? Considering the game costed about $80milll to make? Along with Kiefer Sutherland was a terrible choice.
The money they charge for this shit nowadays is laughable, but it really ain't all that funny.
They get away with it because, this nonsense, 'rides' on the back of a good name, and cons most into thinking they are getting a 'premium' product under that title. Standard business practice I suppose, but when you couple it with obvious underhand dealings with certain main site reviewers, then we really have to question where the Gaming industry is heading, and who to trust?

Oh wait no, it's OK since that's not really Snake, so his being a forgettable nobody with little to no speaking lines outside of cassettes is totally understandable. We will all remember the real Big Boss in this final hurrah as just I dunno, snorting coke with Contras in Columbia. Or something. Basically being useless and forgettable also. Except lamer since really Big Boss. Really. Ocelot sucks too. Why does he even have those shotgun shells bandoliered up there? Is he cosplaying. I want to remember bad ass old guy. As much as I find it restrictive but a dialogue wheel with 3 choices would have been a good idea for Snake. Why hire and mo-cap Kiefer's face otherwise?
