game is great, i'm not getting bored either. The exploration and driving are tight enough that I don't mind the limited number of activities on paper.
There are so many cool locations to discover and explore.
Game is a huge step up by the devs from their clunky and boring just cause series that I could never get into.

@D_W: Yeah, I agree on that. It's definitely an improvement on JC1,2 which bored me to tears after a few hours. Just played it for 2.5 hours and found it interesting.
When I get some time, I'll try to do a longplay to see if it truly passes the JC test for me.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Finally I got around playing the game for some hours this afternoon (using the denuV2 medicine which works fine here), and the first impressions surely are rather positive.
Max is lucky to have one damn cool "package" so to speak, when in comes to the combo graphics/presentation/optimization, and this is something pleasant since I wasn't used to play a game without any visible nastinesses lately.
The environmental effects, lighting and explosions alone are so good that make Bay go moist, an Avalanche trademark.
I'm enjoying the gameplay as well, but *sad trombone* it's just impossible for me to ignore the amount of watering down typical of all the AAA games these days, showing up in the form of: very low challenge, gimped jumping in favour of one button to rule 'em all (E) -> linear level design for indoors, default two-mouse-button-based combat system (Arkham, Sleeping Dogs, Mordor, Hand of Fate, and even all the Asscreeds to some extent - they use one button and a half) and so on. The sense of fatigue unfortunately for me has become quite evident, after all these years it's probably time to experiment with something different that isn't entirely based on visual QTEs
The driving and exploring part are both solid (except for the Grid Autosport's cockpit cam..a hit below the belt. Shame! - as well as the white outlines/invasive HUD in general), with the car that doesn't feel weightless at all, same for the (simplistic, but fun) car combat.
As a whole, I think the the game is a rock-solid timewaster. I just wish it was less..streamlined. The life of Max in the Wastelands is definitely a comfy one.

yeah, the streamlining and watering down with most AAA games is now pretty much inevitable.
Bigger dungeons, harsher survival elements, hud customizations, and a bit meatier combat/weapons/loot, and the game would be so top shelf material.
while its still a lot of fun even in its "E for everyone" form, it won't be making any "timeless classics of the master race" lists.

Hehe indeed, very often it's a shame that such interesting concepts with awesome production values don't offer more in terms of "depth" and end up being just brainless fun. Which is more than fine mind you, but still, we are allowed to dream!
It wouldn't take much really, like you said, just allow for more options/toggleable difficulty-related settings, some tuning here and there, and the adventure can go from walk in the park to decent challenge with survival traits, depending on the player's needs and desires.

I hated the hand holding, but it gets much less so later on, but you still have the dots of click here, get this. Shame they cannot be removed. Do they really need to show me that THIS HERE RIGHT HERE LOOK HERE is scrap? It's the same five 3d models every time. And the leveling stuff is also annoying. So I have mucho scrapo, but cannot buy that upgrade because I am not road warrior enough... Piss off. Over all is not bad. Enjoying it a lot more than MGS. I loved the dashboard camera view, it was totally unexpected in a game like this. I find it very immersive, especially in the more bizarre cars, where all kinds of shit is sticking in the hood.

I just cant get it to work. I have win 7 - 64, it always crashes on the start, when I try it in compatibility mode, I get a massage about steam not being online and then it stops, just weird.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I don't have steam installed.

yep, I just went exploring the sulfur region, outside of the first 4 regions surrounding jeet's fort, the hand holding drops, and forts and combat becomes harder. I just died the first time in a melee battle against like 10+ peeps.
Seriously, these guys have the best colors in games. Just amazing stuff. I'm so impresed by the graphics. Those sulphur fields are just mesmerizingly beautiful, it makes you forget it's a destroyed wasteland.
The game is definitely at its best when you just drive around and explore whatever you encounter. The terrain, the fog, the smoke in the distance you drive towards to discover a loot location, the gravel that flies from under your wheels when you skid through a rocky patch, the giant oil blotches and the sluggish feel of the car when driving through oil fields, the attention to detail is just amazing.

So any graphic card manager could be a culprit? Ill check it out when I get home from work.
Thnx, i thought that it was only fraps that could do this, and I got another possible thing that could be the culprit, the game has problems with access off vb .dll files so someone said that copying:
mfc100.dll
mfc100u.dll
msvcp100.dll
msvcr100.dll
msvcr100.clr040......
into game folder fixed the crash at start.

Those aren't visual basic files, they are the c runtimes. Make sure your visual c runtimes are properly installed and up to date.
Most games include them in some folder usually called redist or similar.

Yes I wrote that those are vb files.
Have you read my post?
All redists are installed but it is still worth a try, don't you think?
That way if it works I will know whats wrong with the system and try to fix it, I haven't installed wins from scratch for 6 years, so maybe it would be time to clear everything, even when I changed my motherboard and proc, I used Sysprep after that I just installed drivers for new hardware. Lazy.

Tried this now with copying those files first from the \System32 and then then \SysWOW64 folder (Win10). Sadly didn't fix the crash at startup for me.
I already tried to run it with every overlay program disabled.

Installed this, didn't work initially, start up, wait a bit, screen goes black, back to desktop, not even an error. Did the timezone change and it works fine. Is there any way to make it work without that or it's just caused by the current crack's state?
In any case, the game looks amazing, runs pretty well even for me, everything on high (plenty more to crank up but I'll pass, heh). Only thing is, it has some really strange framerate drops every now and then that last quite a bit. They mostly happened when getting out of the hideout so far.

I didn't change the Timezone. Game worked with v2 and v3 right away without problems.
No fps drops either. Running on 1080p, everything on High and where allowed on Ultra High except shadows (left them on high).

So, as my system is somehow fucked and i can't get the crack to work, i want to buy it.
It seems russian GMG isn't offering this game anymore.
Those russian keys from Plati, do they only need a VPN for activation? And is there some verifciation for it? Because in the description the sellers write, VPN is needed for playing too.
