I finally did the fucking thing today. After 7 retries all the scripts finally fell into place:
Basically I phantom-cigar'd the time forward (after the male and female interrogation actually triggered, more often than not the interpreter doesn't even arrive and the guards shot the prisoners ) to around 8 PM and then waited on the rooftop opposite the viscount interrogation house, about 20 meters away.
I literally shouted "fucking finally" out loud after the checkmark popped up.
(I was so worried about doing this shit that I didn't back out to ACC immediately, but actually finished the mission. You don't have to do that normally, the side objectives count the moment you do them even when you abort the mission).
Nah, I'm talking about the gameplay, I didn't say anything about the story. Snake sucks now because of Keifer Sutherland imo, Snake will always be David Hayter (for English lang snake) I have no idea why they replaced him anyway.
I prefer Keifer. His character on the 24 tv show showed just how awesome he is. A bit like an urban Rambo crossed with Splinter Cell. I love the guy.
Haha damn, the pain in that mission is not phantom, it's as real as it gets!
I've put the game on hold at the moment because of the wip state of the buccaneerish repackage, but I'm redoing the first 4 episodes with the FOV mod posted a few pages ago, and it's just so much better. A shame that the first person is still glued to the screen, I imagine that will be modded as well.
Can't say much about the story (or lack thereof) yet but strictly gameplay-wise (not counting the absent "narrative atmosphere", or Snake being a goldfish) I'm finding this MGS more entertaining than the ones that I've played before (1/2/3). The better sense of freedom does help, though it's mostly the trusty m&kb that makes everything more direct, precise and satisfying (despite some inevitable consolish AAA feel and Benny Hill's AI moments).
I especially missed this when I played the emulated MGS3 Subsistence some months ago (in third person view), having Phantom/GZ's control system in that game would have made me appreciate it even more (it still was bloody excellent). Kinda like having GTA V's gameplay mechanics in Vice City */dreaming mode=off *
Anyway, was trying out the various Reshade presets and found this one which I like, since it removes the green-ish palette, and makes the nights darker (requires the in-game brightness set on 8 , otherwise it's too...hardcore):

Ohh I must try that, I'm a bit tired of night time being as bright as late dawn

^ The night scene with Reshade looks way better. I just got done playing Graveyard Shift in BF4 and it makes the nights in MGSV look like an absolute joke.
Motherbase is probably the most disappointing bullshit ever.
It's like an overly designed helicopter pad. There's like 2 legit interior spaces you can go to and pretty much nothing else apart from some boring shooting.
What a waste of potential.
This game needed more interiors with vents and stuff. Couldn't have hurt to have certain missions where they drop you off on an island with this big facility. Doesn't need to be super big an island. Just enough so you have places that feel unique and distinct.
If lots of stuff got cut in order to get the game out the door, I can see how mother base side quests would probably be amongst the first on the chopping block. It does kind of make the whole thing superfluous though. Worse even, makes it a chore having to go there at all. They probably would have been better off directing those resources elsewhere. Of course that's easy to say in hindsight, but not much could have been done if it got neutered late in development.
Allows for using lethal force against child soldiers without instantly failing the mission(s) where those are featured, also has a hero point drop and "evil/oni" point increase though there's a few smaller known issues such as Miller flipping out when you do it.
(Later on in the game when you have enough rubber bullets or tranquilizers they're not really that much of a hassle and you can eventually extract them via fulton too so you don't have to trek to the extract point with every single kid after neutralizing them.)

I wonder if that had been in the game whether SJWs would have let it get in the way of their panty twisting over Quiet. Although including it seems like it would be a long shot. I'm sure it would be an instant ban by the OFLC here.

Quoted for the new page, maybe it'll help Inter
Currently waiting on the roof behind the last interrogation for everyone to arrive. If this doesn't work, I am so fucking done with this mission
One thing I noticed this time was that the guards that shoot the prisoners also have dialogue. Do you have to listen to that too?
No, they only further intimidate the prisoner before killing him/her.
Its kinda strange seeing you guys having problems with this mission. I tried it 3 times because of prisoners dying before i rescued them or me being detected. But I didn't see any bugs.
the little touches in this game are really awesome. I just crashed a jeep into a lamppost, and the electric wires fell on my car. My character was electrocuted and passed out
Wish i knew how to see how many hours i have clocked in, i'm pretty sure im over 70h already and im still on mission 25 . Gotta say between this and Witcher this is an awesome year for games.
