saving long shots? naa sorry. i scored many goals from outside the box (either directly or cause the keeper blocked the ball frontwards, and NO FUCKING KEEPER DOES THAT. either block it to the side or try to get it over the bar. i know that cause im playing gk myself Wink )

just made one match. and no the gameplay isnt 1:1 the same. its almost the same but feels different.

cons:
-game itself doenst look as bad as expected (on the field). but lightning is very bad and everything apart from the players (even the grass) looks like shit
-noticable inputlag
-very bad commentary
-every shot a goal, nice work konami...
-loading times, every fucking time the ball goes over the line -> picture stuck while the game reloads. it was in every pes in the last years and its a major con
-camera still sucks as always
-licensing stuff
-console version still miles ahead in direct comparision (just did it with two screens). the ps4 version ported on pc could deliver much better quality (ofc)

pro:
-best pes in years, even on pc. but thats not difficult to achieve

edit: pc vs x360. its almost the same shit, pc just has a bit more intense colors and is a little bit sharper due to the higher resolution

even the icon is inferior Very Happy

Fuck this. I played like 3 matches but the input lag is terrible again(playing on keyboard), same as the last year. I tried to turn off the V-Sync, limit the FPS etc. but it did not help much...bye bye Konami.

that inputlag is engine related, its not possible to get rid of it with different settings (as u said vsync, fps limit whatever)

I played for over a decade in last years master league.. waiting for messi and ronaldo to be reborn as pip-squeak youngsters but it never happened.. bastards were near enough still playing into their 40's.
Hope it improves on 2015 on a few issues. I'll give mgspp a break to have a few games of this later.

classic pes bug not fixed since years Very Happy

right click on the settings.exe -> properties -> compatibility -> check the box with disable display scaling on high dpi settings. the settings application will let you set 1920x1080 now

I finally downloaded the official unlocked demo (courtesy of Konami's tears) and played some matches. The presentation and visuals are as expected very distracting, there is no other way to put it, simply unthinkable that in 2015 we have to witness to something like this with the flat yellowish turfs, no dynamic lighting whatsoever/post-processing and so on. Konami pls.

As for the game itself, it's pretty much the same as last year, only with some improved animations/off-the-ball movements, so in terms of gameplay it's definitely not a bad football game. The low-responsiveness bug seems to be gone for me even when v-sync is on, the first time that it happens in years. Razz
And now the catches *sad trombone* Okay
I'm finding the new pacing noticeably faster, everything is unrealistically slightly more arcade-oriented too which is exactly the opposite of what FIFA is trying to achieve with the 16 version. The Hulk-like shooting is especially odd to see, like you guys have mentioned, it reminded me of Fifa World Cup 2002's power-ups with some Virtua Striker here an there. Sad Laughing

As for the refereeing, I don't know if I've been unlucky but in four 10min matches I've seen only one foul from the AI, and on top of that, all my killer Chiellini tackles from behind have remained unpunished, just like the vintage football from the 80s xD. Goddammit.

Will keep the iso installed, but I doubt that this PES will stay on my HDD for more than a few weeks. Fifa despite the flaws this year is simply the superior product, with also margins of improvements single-player-wise with the sliders tuning/AI modding.

It seems that there is a player ability (trait) which leads to more fouls after editing it. It's "The Enforcer" or something like this. I'll try it in a while.

i do not speak baguette but it says konami withdraws from any triple-a high budget productions of games. except the metal gear online shit and pes.

imho they could burry pes too, and i dont think its a high budget production. i cant see where they invest much money in improving that

9.5 from IGN. Laughing

Referees are thankfully more lenient than in real life: you can barrel into a challenge at speed, cleaning out the player as well as winning the ball, but as long as you make contact, it won’t automatically draw a foul.

That's the retarded derplicious videogaming journalism nowadays. You can turn the game to a destruction derby and guess what. That's fun.
Goalkeepers are great also for IGN journos. One was playing and the other one was standing in front of the TV counting KONAMI's "gift".

Well, to be honest I would think most journos have given up on waiting for a football simulator, so they might go like "if we're gonna keep getting this year after year from both EA and KONAMI, then they might as well make it more entertaining" Laughing

I like the game, I haven't tried Fifa16 yet so I'm not comparing it to it's natural rival. The off-sides which were a major pain in last years edition have been toned down it seems, but perhaps not enough as I still get plenty of off-side calls in every match. Animation is improved too and I don't experience the input lag which some of you's are having trouble with fortunately.

My biggest gripe is that Jim Beglin's (one of the commentators) lines are recycled ...again.
With 95% of the crap he spouts from his mouth being identical to last years PES. He's not even that good, and having to listen to him repeat all his botched lines and 'expert' analysis of the match (which is clearly not the same match as I'm playing most of the time it seems..) is already beginning to grate early on.

I've not given it much play-time so far, only a couple of hours, but it seems easier to win matches compared to last years?. I mean, I'm winning matches on the regular default skill setting a lot more easily. I'll bump it up to pro/ace eventually and see if it differs still. What else is good. In contrast to Beglin, Drury actually injects some life and urgency into the commentary for once. Tackling too, namely slide tackles.. are a lot more refined and are far less likely to give away a foul then in the previous years game. Soundtrack is okay too, but PES usually has a half decent playlist with a couple of standout tunes. What else, best thing is that individual players are more pronounced too, where the stats do seem to make some difference so it's not like you just have a clone of 11 men running around on your team. I like that as it gives players more character. Now I'm really wanting to play Fifa and too see how that plays too.

A few days ago I wanted to bash the game, but never came around to write about it. But then something strange happened. Does the game have some kind of adaptive AI? I have a feeling like it's adjusting itself to my play as I initially started on professional, felt like child play, tuned up all the way to superstar. Initially I was still killing it with just a bit more resistance, but with every game it's been getting harder and harder, with the AI getting more and more bold, to the point where I was getting my ass kicked and had to tune down to Top Player. Anyone feel the same ?

Every now and again in PES games some sort of script kicks in that will put you the player in such a position, where you will really have to battle to win some games. Especially when your playing matches like a cup final or really important match. For instance you may go into a game with all players in form and up for it, but they'll just keep fluffing their shots in front of goal or just perform badly.. even though you may have come into the match on good form and on a string of runs. The game will literally force you too either ride it out or lose when the computer does something unexpectedly. It's kind of an adaptive AI, but it's not an AI that will do that in every game, only in certain situations, like the cup final scenario mentioned earlier. It's hard to explain really, but I've noticed it in PES games throughout the years. I dunno if you play it long enough you will probably see for yourself too.
