Couldn't find a thread for it, anyway since Konami canned Silent Hills this game is probably the closest we will ever get to it (minus Norman Reedus ofc^^)
The game is made by Chris Kesler, who's been an environment artist on such films as Avatar, The Hobbit, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Curently Pc is the only platform planned it will have full Ocolus Rift support (i really don't know if i want to try this lol, actually the screens and the trailer allrdy creep me out enough)
It's made in UE4 as far as i know, i think it allrdy looks pretty impressive for a indie game.
What the hell, graphics wise looks better than anything out there. So damn creepy aswell, gonna be insane with oculus rift (10fps ofcourse since its UE4).
visually looks really nice
but design looks really subpar
they need to get rid of that horrid voiceover completely
and nobody will play a jumpscare game in vr, apart from youtube lulz
wish they just did a lovecraftian cosmic mood-horror game in the style of gone home or vanishing of ethan carter
Nope, I'm making one, 80% done. Haven't been announced yet. And it's quite good, not that generic empty house shit with infinite letters to read and scary sounds.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

Nice, I've been wanting another good Lovecraft game ever since Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

+1 sale here, will buy for $1 in a humble bundle with 4 other games and all money sent to charity.

I definitely think you're right (I know you have a Rift as well). I've played almost all horror-oriented rift demos using my DK1 and DK2 and it can get pretty damn intense, much more so than people think when they watch someone play them. Granted there's a lot of overacting on YT but I've never screamed while playing a horror game (or watching movies for that matter) on a monitor, but I've had a few moments where I've actually yelled out loud while playing with the Rift. That shit gets really intense.
So I definitely think you're right, watching that video above was very creepy and I can imagine how terrifying it would be to play it in the Rift (or Vive). I'll play it, definitely but I'm certainly not the average gamer.

No I haven't announced or shown it anywhere. It's more of storyline puzzler, but still has first person view and exploration. Unlike all them old house games it has mocapped characters, voiceover and cutscenes. Looks good although UE4 sometimes makes me *sigh*
Announcements and Steam Greenlight will be around october, I guess.

going to be close, which is a pity... i thought there was a bit of a resurgence of atmospheric first person survival games... and this one looks pretty good, i thought there'd be more interest.
Ehh... no, not really. Kickstarter is still going strong. I mean, sure, not as strong as during that KS storm a few years ago, people are a bit more cautious now, but games still get funded. Sadly, I think it's just the genre
Not interested in just another horror game where all you do is walk around waiting for the next jump scare or run in with a monster so you get to flee a hide in a closet or similar.
I prefer my horror games old, like Alone in the dark, Resident evil or Silent hill.
A bit more then 10 days to go,still not funded, but it seems funds getting more faster,I think around 4-5k per day now, which is good,we all know the last 2-3 days things getting even faster.
they are now on 141k out of 250k,if they can get till then to 160-180 for last 3 days,I think they can make it as they will do in 3 days what similar amount of the first day.

Give them a chance. It'd be enough to get a game started, they can then early access it on steam to bring in more funds. I mean trine 3 had a huge budget and they squandered it... I've seen great things come from financially tight starts...
